Staff was great and the room was very clean. Breakfast each day didn't have much of a variance, so after a week stay it got boring but all in all, great stay!

The room was clean and new, a bit small, but not bad. Be warned though, there was not a coffee maker in the room, which in our experience was very unusual and inconvenient. There was also a kids hockey tournament in the area so the common areas on the first floor were chaos and the families had no consideration of anyone else in the hotel; running up and down halls, screaming, and getting hockey lessons in the area in front of the elevator. We also had a kid screaming, running, and jumping the first night past 2 am in the room next door, while not the hotel's fault, they did not answer at the front desk any of the times we tried to call to get assistance with the noise. They also could have asked the hockey families to be more considerate of other guests in the common area.

Love this hotel, but a few things I would ask for, please. 1. Shop vac all room floors, even the corners. I noticed crumbs and dirt in corners. It's almost like the floors were swept, but that doesn't really pick up everything. Especially in corners. 2. Many of the other guests were hockey travel teams and they were quite loud one night at 12am and one morning at 7:30am. We won't stay at Hampton Inn anymore because they were so loud and rowdy all the time and hotel staff refused to do anything about it for years. They have since addressed the issue. We too travel for swim meets to Holland, a lot, (over 10 years now. We come from Traverse City.) and often, and it seems this group is always so loud and rowdy. On a positive note, I really appreciated the first floor accommodations, per my request, since my elderly mother has trouble walking far. We will be back!

This is a basic, budget hotel, but it is the second time I’ve stayed there and for the price it is clean and in a good location about 10 minutes from Hope College. The bed is okay and the cleanliness is fine (I did wipe my bare feet down before bed and the washcloth was dirty. The biggest letdown is the breakfast. It is not unsatisfactory even at a budget hotel. Most Tru’s have a pancake machine. This one the pancakes are premade and they are simply not good. The other breakfast options did not look appealing either, but to be fair, I didn’t try them. All in all, I would recommend it for a quick visit.
