Dear Owner of Citrus Hotels. I am a mother and my two children. We had a terrible situation Citrus Hikkaduwa. On the night of 30th April, 200 dollars were stolen from our bag in the room. They entered at night when we were sleeping in the room through our open balcony. 01.05 - we spent time in the hotel. Around 15:00 we discovered the theft. When we went to the reception about this outrageous incident, the manager openly laughed at us and mocked us, saying that we will not prove anything, and that it is our fault because we did not keep the money in the safe. NO, I repeat, it happened at night when we were in the room and sleeping. And this is already a deliberate entry. We went to the police, explained to them what happened, and they understood that they tried to compensate us at least with a gift to close the 22,000 rupees in the hotel account. But the manager tried to twist everything in Sinhala and make us look like fools. He even threatened my son that either we pay or we will be in trouble! We are upset and disappointed and are sure that this manager will arrange this scam of stealing from the room that night. He was not interested in investigating this incident. Now we are afraid and warning guests that at the Citrus Hotel the manager arranges thefts from the rooms and sleeps there dangerously at night. Please take steps to investigate this outrageous situation. I truly believe that your guests deserve to be protected during their holiday.
