About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

“Amazing”! “Relaxing and Peaceful” Cabin. "Montana Treasure"!

Zephyr Hill is a stunning property located 10 minutes from Helena up Colorado Gulch. This creekside retreat is a great place for a getaway or an excellent basecamp for your Southwest Montana excursion. Carefully restored and updated with a small but modern kitchen, full bath, with a stone fireplace at the center of the cabin. Exposed logs and wood floors are comfortable while the Lodge Craft furnishings will remind you of accommodations in Yellowstone and Glacier. The huge main bedroom is a step-down from the living area and has a comfortable king-sized bed. There is also a smaller bedroom with two twin beds. Comfortable linens along with extra layers of blankets make it warm on cool summer nights or the coldest of winter days.

We renovated this cabin for use by our own family, but it's too great not to share! We live in the adjacent home, but don't worry, with 5 acres of ground - we may not even bump into each other. All the same, if you need anything during your stay, we're right next door.

While cell service is sparse, we do have fiber-optic internet that allows for WiFi calling and all messaging options. Instructions provided in the welcome book at the Cabin. 100% of our guests have successfully used WiFi calling and you’ll see no difference in your service once connected! The TV supports Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus, Prime Video, etc. Please plan to familiarize yourself with casting from your own device or use your login info to access.

Montana Family Reunion / Vacation
Charming historical cabin in a beautiful, peaceful setting. All the amenities that a home includes. A home away from home. The hosts were very warm and welcoming immediately. And to top it off, we saw a moose, deer and wild turkey! Great home base for our five day stay. What a great country that we live in from Ohio to Montana and back!

Super cute and cozy cabin near Helena
Wonderful stay! We enjoyed the deck, beautiful green scape and trees. The cabin was darling with rough hewn timbers and knotty pine walls. The rustic decor was so fitting for a “cabin in the woods”. Comfortable furniture and bedding. Board games as well as outdoor games were perfect for family fun. The kitchen was well appointed but small. Very nice to have a dishwasher. We are not accustomed to Kurig coffee making but figured it out. We had worried a bit about room temperature as we were there on a quite hot day. But it did cool off fine with windows open at night. One day we did use a fan in the afternoon. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Our 8 year old boy who visited from Helena loved playing with the host’s boys and dog. The step down in the master bedroom was a bit precarious for us. It was lighted at night. The lighting in the bedroom and great room was on the dim side. All in all we loved it and will return. Helena downtown was lovely and fun. Live music on Saturday night and plenty of food, drinks and ice cream available.

Trip to Montana
Our family enjoyed everything about the cabin! Even though we only had a few days to be in Montana, it was the perfect backdrop for our trip. It felt like "home", even if it was for a short timeframe. Rick & Julie were wonderful to work with and took care of all the details for us. Thanks!

Absolutely Amazing Cabin and Hosts
The cabin itself is quaint, comfortable, and so much fun to stay in. The property is beautiful, and sitting outside on the large deck listening to the nearby creek is very relaxing. But none of that compares to how wonderful the hosts are. They are friendly and were quick to accommodate our needs with no hesitancy! Definitely going to try to stay at this cabin again in the future if possible!

The perfect Montana experience!
This historic cabin provided the prefect place to stay while we explored the Helena area. It had the rustic charm we love and all of the comforts and amenities we appreciate. It's beautifully decorated with local artwork and antiques. The front deck, overlooking the property, became our favorite place to hang out. The proximity to Helena was perfect. We felt like we were at a mountain retreat and yet it was just a short drive to downtown. Rick and his family were the perfect hosts. We hope to return soon!

Rick and Jenn's slice of parqdise
The cabin is absolutely charming and in a peaceful setting. Rick and Jenn have a beautiful family and are attentive hosts. The cabin could use a mirror in each bedroom since the only other one is in the bathroom. Also, I think the step in the master should be mentioned in the listing description. Minor suggestions. We would highly recommend this property

A warm and charming place for great Montana staycation.
Our party was coming from different locations around Montana and travel was coinciding with a snow storm and we were all unfamiliar with the area. Rick was very helpful in giving us information regarding local road conditions and tips on our route to help us avoid unfavorable road conditions. As well as being helpful our hosts were warm and welcoming and made us feel right at home. Although we are all lovers of historic properties sometimes they can be a bit on the cold side. The historic charm of the cabin was preserved and highlighted while still being updated with modern creature comforts. As we enjoyed sitting around fireplace we all kept saying "What a great cabin!" Although being a party of adults we were all very charmed with the upstairs child's play area and this would be a great place for a family stay. We would absolutely recommend this vacation home and we will be happy to book it again next time we are in the area! Hopefully we will be able to return in the warmer months so we can enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces as well.
