Nice house with plenty of room, although very oddly laid out rooms. But the location, although right on the far end of the lake & not far from stores, is DIRECTLY on the intersection of 2 very busy roads. There was SO much noise from traffic that it was hardly enjoyable to be outside. For the money spent per night, we'd hoped for a more peaceful stay. Also, I'd say it was mostly clean but there were dried muddy bootprints all over the front porch & we found the home unlocked at every door. The outdoor furniture on the porches seems to have not been cleaned since last summer/fall but we mostly spent our time at the outdoor fireplace/patio anyway. The patio light posts didn't work the first night & at dusk the second evening, we had our electrician friend come help us figure why the breaker was messed up & he got it fixed, but the bulbs are pretty dim & didn't provide sufficient light anyway. At least 2 of the spindles on the front deck are broken, one with nails exposed, as we found out when our little dog pushed between 2 spindles. We found a few of the dishes (bowls especially) to be very dirty in the cabinets but we rinsed everything as we used it, even if it did appear clean. Several lightbulbs throughout the house were burned out but we couldn't find any replacements. Appliances worked well & beds were comfy & clean. Hotel type towels, so they weren't great - bring your own towels if you prefer that comfort. Overall, decent stay but needs to be less per day.
