The Helendorf is right in the heart of town near the famous bridge and near the restaurants and shopping. The rooms are on the Chattahoochee river.

Loved being in downtown Helen. Definitely walkable to most everything. Room was good, loved the river view. Clean, comfortable, safe. TV worked and had Netflix (last few places we’ve been had TV issues and no Netflix). Overall, a good place to stay and I’d go there again

This hotel was perfect for our stay in Helen, GA. It was perfectly on theme, you feel transported from the moment you drive up to the property. Everything was immaculately clean. The staff were all so friendly & helpful. The radio alarm in the room next to us went off at 3am. We called front desk and they took care of it within minutes. Coffee and tea available at the lobby all day. The room was spacious, the view was beautiful! The kids loved the hotel. I could go on and on about how great this place was! We will definitely be back!

Helen first timers

The location is perfect. We parked the car upon arrival on Sunday and didn’t move until departure on Wednesday. We chose riverfront and greatly enjoyed the river sounds and breeze. We enjoyed our first trip to Helen. The continental breakfast is very basic ( microwave products ) but the stay was great and location perfect. Once we checked out we went to Unicoi and Anna Ruby falls.

The hotel is really unique with really nice old furniture, unfortunately the bed was a little old (sagging) too. The breakfast was really weird, oatmeal, but no toppings, not even brown sugar. No yogurt. There were some packaged sweet goods and some tiny packaged sausage and biscuit. No fruit. The room was dirty around the edges. Had to hike up quite a set of stairs (not good for my bad knee). There were about 7 cars in the parking lot, with 4 buidings worth of rooms according to the clerk. The town was dead. Not sure why we had the hike. The price we paid, we expected something a little nicer. There were hotels in the area for a lot less, so we thought we were getting a bit more. Very, very disappointing. The description states that it is on the river, the whole town is on the river, so that really wasn't an advantage.

Holiday Visit

Great location next to the river and walking distance to everything in Helen. As some have noted, it's not a new hotel, but it is clean, cozy and quaint with friendly staff.

Great stay for a quick visit. You are very close to restaurants and shopping. Cute atmosphere. Rooms are very big, a bit dated but nice. Would stay here again if we make it back to Helen!

The hotel is on the older side; thin walls and creaky floors but the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The location is very convenient. It is walking distance to pretty much everything that downtown Helen had to offer. We definitely wouldn’t mind staying here again!

It is older and not fancy but the staff are wonderful. It is clean. It is convenient and the river is just outside your door. It’s perfect for a family trip.
