Lovely property, nicely secluded. Comfortable, cosy cottage with modern conveniences (WiFi, television, microwave). Caretaker Eileen was very helpful (including enquiring among the locals if they knew any family history to help my genealogy research. An adorable book has been compiled by the owner’s family outline the history of the cottage.

Lovely quaint cottage not too far from Galway. We stayed here for our base on the west coast and did day trips from here.

Cosy and well equipped

Charming, traditional cottage with everything you need for a good stay. Warm and clean, and the contact with the property manager was excellent.

Secluded diamond in the rough

This little piece of Irish history wrapped up in a cottage ideal for families who love to walk have quiet time explore there surroundings or have a cosy night in. Even storms couldn’t ruin our holiday will definitely be making a return visit

Quiet man cottage

A peaceful and tranquil setting We almost expected John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara to greet us when we arrived. An ideal centre for seeing all the "tourist places" but secluded for a peaceful, quiet rest.

Perfect to enjoy the countryside

Location was great et it suited all our needs. We really enjoyed the time we spent there. Easy contact with host & caretaker. It would be nice to have a more modern shower (lack of pressure), but it's just a small detail.

Week in Galway

Lovely week in a peaceful traditional cottage. Slept well - only darkness, stars and birdsong outside - ate well - Headford has a friendly inn, Anglers' Rest - travelled miles in beautiful countryside - visited interesting places such as spectacular Kylemore Abbey. Recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a contrast to a busy working life.

Country side stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Mirehill cottage. Small and convenient, vintage look. The photos were accurate, but they showed animals which we never saw, it might be disappointing for kids.

A peaceful retreat

The hosts were friendly and helpful from the start, as well as very approachable. They have made a very welcoming, well appointed home away from home, where at the beginning and end of the day, you can comfortably relax and unwind in comfort, with all the facilities you could need. The location is quiet and peaceful in beautiful surroundings, but convenient for travel around Galway. There was a personalised sense of hospitality to our stay, and we would highly recommend the cottage for a delightful stay.

First, the lake view is nowhere to be seen from the cottage. Further, the wi-fi never worked, and the UK to US electricity converter was fried. Aside from that, the cottage was clean and comfortable, in a bird-filled, idyllic environment.

The wifi, TV didn't work; the tub had a huge crack in it. It was not a cute cozy cottage.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in Mirehill Cottage. Although the property seemed small at first it was ideal for the two of us. Evelyn, the caretaker, was very friendly and helpful and made sure everything was sorted for us. Location was ideal for trips to Mayo and Connemara although getting through the Galway city traffic was a bit annoying. The cottage is located in a quiet area and just the ideal spot to unwind in the evening to relax and chill out if that’s what you want. Definitely recommended for that quiet getaway to relax, while at the same time experience the fabulous West of Ireland.

Wonderful, Peaceful, and all around Awesome.

We stayed for 2 wonderful off grid weeks at this charming cottage. Eileen was a wonderful host. I was amazed at how responsive she was during the planning especially since there was such a time difference in our locations. My husband has some mobility issues, and Eileen answered all our questions to make sure that we were going to be comfortable. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed plus more for our extended stay. We had safety vests for walking, a Tesco grocery tag and reusable grocery bags for grocery shopping. A resource binder with touring information was especially helpful because at the time of our stay the regional internet provider was still disrupted due to the storms earlier in the year. If staying in a charming cottage in a peaceful setting in the beautiful Irish countryside has any appeal then staying at Eileen's cottage will be a dream fulfilled.
