From the time we entered thru the front gate of the property, we were surrounded by woods. About a half mile drive along the drivable, gravel road, a serene lake appeared. A bit further up the road there is another lake. Huge lily pads float on its surface near the shoreline. We rented the Farmhouse, one of two houses available. It is surrounded by a canopy of tall trees and has a wrap around deck with several sets of table and chairs for dining outside and a gas grill. Inside, the home is quite cozy with comfortable couches and a kitchen ready for the chef in the family to prepare meals. The beds are soft and full of pillows and the bathrooms offer a warm shower or a soak in the bathtub. In the evening, while dining on the deck, we watched a sunset of orange, yellow and purple off to the west. In the morning and evening the tall trees surrounding the house teemed with songbirds, such as: a bright, red Summer Tanager, a yellow American Goldfinch, a blue Indigo Bunting and a blue and yellow Tufted Titmouse. We kayaked the calm lakes. We fished, catching bass in both lakes. There are well maintained hiking trails throughout the property. The host answered all of our questions as we prepared for our stay and we received directions to the property and codes to the gate and home the day before our arrival. The property offers something for everyone in the family.
