Had an incredible 5 night stay at the Grand Du Lac. The rooms were very nice and comfortable (particularly the big bed) and the amenities were all clean and well maintained. A special Thankyou to all the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable - organising car transfers, tours to Ha Long Bay and all the yummy food recommendations. Overall the best feature was the location. Grand Du Lac is situated on a quieter side street, which had limited traffic and road noise, perfect for those sleep ins. Yet it was only a 1 minute walk to the church and start of the busyness/shopping areas. Would highly recommend! 10/10

Pros: Located in “old town” a few doors down from the famous church. Close to food and shopping Close to other POI - Prison, Lake, church. Staff were amazing! Thomas the (Manager?) was very accommodating and helpful, made us feel like VIP. The room we booked was internal window, king size bed. Average size room for city hotel. I thought an internal window would mean looking out into an atrium type set up… it wasn’t. It was a skinny tall window that let you view a sky light. As we were hardly in our room we did not mind. But in the future, I’d post a bit more to have a view to the outside world. The bed was sooo comfy and the pillows were “dreamy”. The breakfast selection was good - on par with other hotels we stayed at. Swimming pool was smallish. Did have a gym but we did not use. Outside the hotel they have a convenient table and chairs where you can sit and have a drink and watch people go about their business. I would stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.
