Had a great time
First and foremost, I want to stress that the hosts did their utmost to welcome us into their home. The booking was easy, and the location great.
While Hamburg, in general, is very expensive this flat appealed to us also because it was one of the more affordable places.
Our hosts were super nice, forthcoming, helpful and inviting with everything from check-in to our stay and our check-out, when handling questions or helping out in applying for a temporary parking permit. Making everything super easy to organize (especially regarding the hand-over of the keys).
However, as we stay with a group, there were different opinions about the cleanliness of the flat.
While personally, I didn't feel uncomfortable, some of my friends minded the apartment in that regard.
If you are expecting a hotel-like apartment, please check with the host before to clarify a few things. Because this is not a vacant flat, but one where a family usually lives in. This is apparent when living in the flat.
Nonetheless, the flat was cleaned before our arrival.
Overall I would like to say that we had a wonderful weekend in Hamburg, in an amazing part of the city, with a sweet back garden, where the neighbors were benevolent enough not to take offense in our caper.
