A couple of the region's more significant cities, Busan and Suwon, sit within commuting distance of Gumi. Busan can be found 85 miles (137 kilometers) to the southeast, while Suwon can be found 100 miles (161 kilometers) to the northwest.
It is often found that even those who claim to dislike nature love the beach, so be sure to head on over to Daegu's gorgeous beaches. The most popular beaches are Pohang Beach, which is 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the east of Gumi, and Gyeongju World California Beach, which is 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the southeast.
All avid sports fans vacationing in Gumi should venture 7 miles (11 kilometers) south to Gumi Civil Stadium. Enjoy a few snacks, introduce yourself to a few local people and yell and cheer until you simply can't anymore.
Get your ski boots ready and enjoy an excursion to Eagle Valley Ski Resort. You'll spend hours on the ski slopes and fresh powder, and it's only 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Gumi.
For a more complete experience, take a day trip to nearby Gimcheon and check out some of the popular attractions, such as Jikji Culture Park and Jikjisa Temple.
Inae, a regional center only 25 miles (40 kilometers) from Gumi, is a prime destination. Here, you can check out E-World, Daegu Duryu Park and Hyundai Bowlingjang. As One and Hanseong Bowling Alley are also worth seeing.
