Stunning location and beautiful grounds & scenery

We had been to the hotel about 10yrs ago and loved it & on my husband's 45th birthday this wkend, decided to go again. Such a terrible decision on my part. The greatness and standards of the hotel had dropped significantly that i am appalled it has the rating it sits with! We did not receive the pincode for accessing the game lodge. The reception both in the area as well as in the resort is non-existent and as we reached the gate, we could not call as we had no reception. After numerous attempts of switching off and on the phone, finally able to get access and called the number by the gate. That was the first of many terrible experiences. We were shown our room which was lovely, but then told that water was chargeable. What 5* establishment charges water?! The manager said she understands and would exclude it off our bill. That evening the shower hear was spraying water everywhere, but that was least of the shower problems. We were unable to lower the hot water temperature and ended up rinsing the soap suds with cold water. We mentioned this to the manager and she attempted to assist, unfortunately for the rest of the 3 day weekend, we were forced to shower with cold water as the temperature would not balance itself out. That night, we discovered the mattress was the most uncomfortable bed we had ever slept on - i woke up with the worst backache ever (had to attend a physio on Tuesday morning as I was in too much pain). At checkout, we were billed for the water!?

Great place for a relaxing break

We had a very enjoyable stay and the service was some of the best we've experienced. The wildlife on offer is a bit limited but the overall package is very good.

Disappointed

Romantic venue, serious issues with customer service. My girlfriend and myself had a wedding to attend on the same weekend as our anniversary so we decided to enjoy a romantic wedding at the lodge. The lodge package includes a game drive and dinner, both of which conflicted with the wedding. We requested that we would like to have lunch instead of dinner and would like to catch the afternoon game drive instead of the morning. We were refused. Another issue was that we had no electricity early in the morning and struggled with hot water. The venue is truly stunning, but overall I'm not happy as to how we were treated and how Unaccommodating the hotel was.

Bereits etwas ältere Lodge. Essen wird auf der Homepage mit kulinarischer Safari angepriesen, war aber eher durchschnittlich. Safari an sich ist eher eine kleine Rundfahrt (2 Stunden) mit Löwen in Käfigen (Zucht). Game Reserve kann im afrikanischen Winter interessant sein für Freunde ausgefallener Tiere (braune Hyäne / Aardvark usw.) Hatten am morgen extremen Regen und verließen dann bereits die Lodge gegen 06.30 Uhr, da kein Game Drive möglich war und Frühstück noch 2 Stunden gedauert hatte. Leider gab es keinen Preisnachlass - Wir wollten den Game Drive ja nicht !!! Naja der Ranger begleitete uns zur Straße was 7 km quer durch tiefsten Matsch in normalen Auto bedeutete. Hab selten bei Autofahren so geschwitzt. Dafür auf alle Fälle ein Dankeschön.

Een hotel waar de gastvrijheid echt gemeend is. We hebben hier van begin tot eind genoten. Je wordt echt hartelijk ontvangen en er is oprecht interesse in je. Een plek die je bezocht moet hebben.
