Tired, grubby stay.

Terrible, grubby with stained carpet and sheets. We had asked for an upgrade by phone the previous day to have a bathroom but horrified to find no room change when we arrived. The staff member did phone another place for me though to see if they had vaccancies. Extremely disappointing, grubby stay.

Very affordable, good for family. They have heaters in the rooms but I wish they had fans in the summer months. Shower pressure was excellent! Bed was super comfotable. Quiet.. close to the beach.

It was wonderful to be able to walk out our door and be on the beach in 2 minutes! Close drive to Hokitika and other local destinations.

Not sure how this is a Kiwi Holiday Park, overall it's in desperate need of TLC and maintenance. Our curtains didn't reach the floor and were missing hooks, the communal kitchen needs a deep clean and the children's playground was overgrown with weeds.

Strange greeting

Not the best greeting, the office lady made some strange comment about booking the Motel through Hotels.com and the commission. Not sure why because at the end of the day we purchased a room from them. She also made some comment about me parking at the back of the property prior to check-in like I did something wrong, but all I did was follow the signs from the main road.

It was ok but for the price a very tired old unit, probably more suited to the workmen who seemed to be staying in the other units. Also entrance was from a very busy road which was a little scary.

Comfy and fully self contained unit with kitchen facilities. Good bed and great water pressure - no running in circles in the shower to get wet!! Friendly and very helpful manager with advice on eateries and local sites. Little bonus of delightful plunger coffee.

We arrive to our room to find a cat on the bed. Both myself and my travel partner are very allergic to cats (asthma). Owner seemed unconcerned and said the cat could not have been in the unit for more than a few minutes. (The cat seemed pretty at home). Offered a refund, but there was no other place to stay. Aired out the place, strpped bed covers and coughed a lot.
