Having booked a sea view room with balcony, we were somewhat disappointed to find that outside of our room was the kitchen extraction fan & ductwork. We therefore rejected this room but unfortunately the hotel, being fully booked for the night of the 27th May for the one night we remained insitu. Having requested to be moved the following day without fuss, we were moved to a second floor room which was perfect for the remainder of our stay. The hotel even moved our possessions themselves after we had packed them up! The breakfast is first class with a very good selection of cooked food and served with panache by ?

Perfect stay

We went for lunch and to stay and everything was perfect. The lunch was delicious and good value, the room was great and breakfast was very good. Every member of staff was excellent as was the service they provided. We wi be going back and look forward to it.

Happy days!

The view from our room was lovely. We could see the beach and also the harbour. The shower was a little difficult for me as it's over the bath but I managed quite well once I got used to it. The terrace seating is lovely.

Location and the food was good, and the staff worked hard and were very pleasant. However the room we were given was very small very basic and in need of upgrading. Which was a bit disappointing. Also the floor boards and stairs were very creaky, and the cornice, and decorative mouldings needed repairs. But apart from those points, we enjoyed our stay.

A pleasing 2 night stay

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cliff hotel. It was freshly redecorated everywhere and very clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable with complimentary tea/coffee. The service was average but a lovely waitress at breakfast made up for it. Gluten free bread and oat milk were available. The outside spaces were very pleasant with nice views. The food was average.

Great views

The Cliff Hotel has a great outdoor Terrace that overlooks the sea and river. When the weather is nice, its a great place to eat or have a drink, especially breakfast. In more inclement times, you can eat/drink inside and still have the great views. The staff were friendly & helpful and you can see some great sun-rises if your room overlooks the sea to the east.

Feel the standard has dropped staff seemed inexperienced apart from receptionist bar manager and Kieran. Our meal was disappointing with grit in the muscles dish and in the 3 Linguine pastas. When we made waitress aware she said it was thoroughly washed. Breakfast lady was quite rude we made reception aware.

Great stay

We stayed three nights in a small room . It was ample in size , comfortable and if anything too warm. A decent size bath with shower and toiletries provided. Breakfast was a feast with a great menu, and the evening meal reasonable. Staff were engaging and friendly and all requirements were dealt with efficiently. Will definitely stay here again. Gorleston beach and high street were all within walking distance, so the car wheels rarely turned . Hotel has stunning views from the restaurant which is modern, bright and airy.
