Shoddy, and rin down. Carpets were thread bare, slats broken on the blinds, curtain had pleats removed because it was too short for the window and 1 end did not have a hook so left a 6 inch gap of covering the window, no luggage rack

Old and run down room smells drapes have a wire holding them up on one end which shows the lack of pride of ownership way over priced

This property is an old, '50s-style motel, that needs upgrading. Fiberglass shower stall lacks floor support and space to properly shower, showerhead is too low for my 6' 1" husband. Bed saggy, i slept with a pillow under my knees. My husband pointed out where the ceiling had split open. A new roof is scheduled to be installed next week.

Do NOT stay here!! I have never had such a horrible hotel experience, and I have stayed in many hotels! We had asked for early check-in. The room wasn't ready until 3pm, despite explaining that we needed to leave for a wedding at 3pm, (late even for a regular check-in, and definitely not early). The manager was unapologetic and did not care that he was causing us a major inconvenience. When we made the reservation, we asked for a "cottage" room for 3 ppl. They assigned us a room that only slept 2. I clarified that I spoke to a man on the phone who had made our reservation. The man at the desk refused to acknowledge a mistake, got visibly angry and started yelling, told me it was impossible and that I was lying or misremembering things, insulted me multiple times, then threatened to cancel our reservation. My husband went to try and clear things up and the man referred to me sarcastically as "your pretty little woman" and threatened again to cancel our reservation, saying "Good luck trying to find a place to stay now!", knowing it was wedding season and the town was booked. At this point, we just needed a place to sleep and gave up. The room had no towels. The bathroom floor was dirty. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom. The mattress was old and creaky. The sheets were threadbare and the drapes were dirty. I could have overlooked the state of the room if we had been treated decently, but I have never been so thoroughly offended and insulted by hotel staff. GO ELSEWHERE

Unbelievable!

Pros: nothing
When we first arrived I smelled a faint weird smell, I chalk it up to it be an older place as I started to look around the room I notice clothe hangers hanging off the "chandelier" like light. I reached to turn on the light and it would come on so I looked to see if the bulb was brunt out but instead I found a meth pipe. I was in disbelief there were no blankets and the fire alarm was in a drawer without the battery, the window was broken being held together with scotch tape. I kid you not. I called to the front office and no answer (they close at 10). We had no where to go the next morning I went to the manager and he said whats the big deal the meth pipe was clean! OMG! no apology nothing! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Great location, uncomfortable room

Pros: The location is beautiful and convenient.
Cons: All the decor, furniture, bathroom fixtures need to be updated.
Location: A short drive from downtown Nevada City and a few miles from Grass Valley, so easy to do whatever you're there for in the area.
The Nevada City Inn has so much potential! It looks really cute from the outside: a bunch of cottages in the midst of pine trees, just outside of downtown. Our room wasn't in one of the cottages, but in the motel proper. And inside, it was the ugliest rooms I've ever seen. Clean enough, but old and worn out, odds and ends thrown together over decades, cracked sink and toilet, grime around all the edges, no curtains on the windows, just blinds, and an outside light shone in all night.

Price is affordable, rooms are small yet clean

Pros: Plenty of coffee, rolls, cereal for morning breakfasts, housekeeping staff very nice and helpful. Reasonable rates
Cons: The manager's attitude, rates should be lowered considering what you get
Location: Great Nevada City area, plenty of historical places to explore. Nevada County is Gold Country
The manager was not too friendly, the motel housekeepers were fantastic helping with all my needs. Rooms are small yet clean. Older motel, walls are thin, lots of animals. Some interesting guests, questionable logic. Considering the rates, you get what you pay for.
