We (family of 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs) arrived after quite a long day of travel and it was apparent that the hotel staff had clearly been very busy with various events. The instructions were rattled through and the check in felt very rushed. We went to our room and there were some minor issues such as: - an additional charge of £50 for "holding" which wasn't clear when booking the room - The kettle wire not actually reaching any of the sockets within the room. - The room was quite cold and the heating took a quite some time to heat up. Not sure how effective the heating system is. - Despite booking a room for 4 people we only received 2x towels. Tried to call but the phone did not work. - The phone was not connected and when I enquired about this the response was "well we don't offer any room service anyway". - The corridor was very loud with the party and disrupted the night. The knock on impact was the dogs became stressed and unsettled resulting in some barking. It might be worth checking with the hotel before booking. I did not want to disturb the staff on the night given how busy it was. The positives - - Location is very well maintained around the grounds - Parking is great with plenty of space - Dog friendly but expect a surcharge of £25 per dog on top of a holding charge - The bar staff were very friendly and approachable - The pool and gym looks well maintained Not quite what we expected

The service at this hotel is normally very good. Sadly not on this occasion. The check in line was unacceptably long taking nearly 30 mins to get to the desk. Food service in the bar was unexpectedly slow and when the food did arrive it was like warm. The staff however were very apologetic and authentic. A bad day… but no more.

Lights not working I’m my room when I arrived. Couldn’t use the leisure facilities in the night as I wanted as the restaurant only had a reservation really early or really late. My biggest complaint is that the draught lager wasn’t working so I had to pay extortionate prices for bottled beer.

Poor service in restaurant - waiter said we could not order food from the childrens’ menu as this was for u12s. We explained that my daughter was 11 and he then questioned us and then her further. This information was on our booking form. He then stood around 1M away from our table for the whole meal - all of this made our children quite uncomfortable. Some good was good (breakfast) but main meal was poor quality and tasteless, therefore poor value for money. However bar and reception staff was lovely.

We booked the spa day. The first treatment for 50mins was very good. There was a break then and our second treatment for 25mins was not worth turning up for. The lunch was served and had to be returned as the bread sandwich was stale and hard. The foccicia was cold and burnt

Recently redecorated, looks fabulous. Bar meal really nice. But don't count on getting sleep. Noisy bedroom doors banging and guests walking the corridors and chatting until possibly midnight, then fire doors banging with early risers making their escape from 5am onwards (possibly trying to wake up the revellers who kept the working ones awake all night!)
