My wife and I absolutely loved our stay at Villa Allamanda. It was our first time on Eleuthera and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. I had searched for a couple weeks on VRBO on the different Bahama "out islands" to try to find the "right" place. I was getting frustrated when I finally came upon Villa Allamanda on Eleuthera. It was perfect; the inside was beautiful and very functional. One of our favorite features was seeing the sunrise in the morning and the sunset in the evening from our deck. Wow! One morning we saw the most beautiful rainbow that we could almost reach out and touch! The lodging is located on a ridge where we could see both the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the "Caribbean Sea" to the west. And there were delightful ocean breezes that kept the space cooler. The owner and designer of Villa Allamanda, John McCardy, was a delightful host. He was incredibly prompt and helpful when we reached out to him with questions about our place or the island. The place is centrally located near Governor's Harbor, which allowed us to easily explore both the northern and southern parts of the island. I don't think you can find a better place to stay on Eleuthera!

Great owner Stunning property

Wow a really artisan residence! We had the Poinsenta room with a balcony that gave us a view of the ocean and Bahamas waters. The decor and attention to details, in design and service, were excellent. John picked us up from the airport by arrangement and had our SUV waiting at the property. No fuss and a great chat about the island. They send a great document with confirmation that gives all the info you need to plan your stay. Flawless and lovely accommodations for a trip on Eleuthera

Our stay at Villa Allamanda was way above our expectations on every level. We stayed in the Poinciana apartment which had wrap around views of both the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea. It was breezy all day and private at all times. The unit itself was really well laid out, clean and very organized and considerately laid out. John the owner was consummate host, incredibly helpful, a pleasure to deal with and super attentive to all the details. Property itself has all the supplies you’d need for your beach day, is 5-10 minutes from several great restauaraunts and 10-20 minutes from tons of great beaches. Overall a perfect spot for venturing out and seeing everything on the island and returning for a restful evening at the end. So happy we chose this as our first stay on the island.

Great stay at this property. John the owner and manager was great to deal with. Very helpful with getting us settled in to our time in Eleuthera and take care of any issues. What a pleasure to get to know him and his family. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Serene tropical Bahamian home

The home and neighborhood are beautiful and quiet and the local Bahamian people are so very kind. There are outrageous views of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean, providing sun rises/sets every day. Unfortunately there was a mosquito problem (worse at night-time) both on the decks and surrounding grounds and smaller tiny bugs on all kitchen & dining table counter tops. Bring bug repellant and the sterno cans work ok to ward off mosquitos on the deck. Our fridge also wasn't cooling perfectly. However John the owner is excellent at responding to any needs and provided much information. He is the best host we've ever had! The property provides beach chairs & umbrellas for your use which is real nice. There is also a rental car company that is available.

Very enjoyable.

Everything was perfect. My wife and I are 60. We enjoyed exploring the mostly undisturbed beaches on the island. The property was immaculately kept. The owner, John, is very helpful and you never see him unless he is needed. He also rents cars which was a big plus for us. He picked us up and dropped of at the airport. The vehicles were also spotless. We saw many rentals that were in nowhere near the shape of ours. We travel all over and I have never written a review in my life. I hope that speaks to how impressed we were. If you are looking for an experience like this, give Villa Allamanda a hard look. FYI, we met many families with children on the island. Great family friendly spot too.

Wonderful property, people and island

Booking process was simple and easy even with some changes. Follow up was always prompt. Flew into Governors Harbor airport and John the owner met us. As it was getting dark he offered to drive us to a grocery store and a liquor store for provisions. He also showed us the main areas of town that night. Check in was a breeze! Unit was exactly as advertised. We had a large wrap around deck with a private eating area. Kitchen was fully provisioned with everything we needed. Views of both the Atlantic side and the Caribbean were unbelievable. I must say, John was an expert on the island and was available whenever we needed. him. We also rented a vehicle from John that was well maintained and suited the 3 of us perfectly. We cannot say enough about Eleuthera and Villa Allamanda. We will be coming back. Mark
