New Oceanfront Home with Dock, Kayaks, Private Pool
Welcome to Coral Point, a new (2019) oceanfront villa on the Caribbean Sea. Coral Point features sweeping ocean and sunset views from every room in the house, as well as from the oceanfront pool and patio.
Enter into Coral Point's great room which looks out through an 8 foot sliding glass door at the pool and Caribbean Sea beyond. The living room is comfortably furnished with sofas and a flat screen TV. The dining area, with seating for eight around an elegant designer table, enjoys the same pool and ocean view. Behind it is the open-plan island kitchen, finished in quartz composite and stainless steel. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and appliances including microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, blender etc.
The great room also features a powder room and a laundry closet with washer and dryer.
Flanking the great room are two large bedroom suites, both sharing the same sweeping ocean views of the great room. One has a king bed and the other twin beds. Both have full en-suite baths with double sinks finished in cool, elegant travertine. The twin bedroom suite has a walk-in shower and a separate tub. The king bedroom has a walk-in shower.
The top floor of Coral Point is dedicated to the vast master suite. This room features a king bed, sitting area, and a large deck overlooking the pool and sea. The luxurious en-suite bath is equipped with a walk-in shower and large tub.
Outside, Coral Point's large stone patio surrounds the pool and is furnished for lounging and dining. The pool and patio enjoy stunning ocean views. Just beyond is the oceanfront recreation area equipped with a dock perfect for swimming, fishing, snorkeling, and launching the kayaks. (It's not suitable for the overnight docking of a power boat.)
The snorkeling off the property is exceptional. Quoting from a recent guest: “We saw 10-15 rays each day, some of the most variety of colorful fish of any of our snorkeling locations--tangs, puffer fish, spiny lobster, crabs, huge angel fish, squirrel fish, parrot fish, live conchs, too many things to list.”
Amenities at Coral Point including AC throughout, WIFI, smart TV, washer/dryer, gas grill, and two kayaks.
Coral Point is located just a mile from Governors Harbour, Eleuthera's main town. Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, a dive shop, and a medical clinic. It has a nice little collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking a picturesque harbor. You can buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour is a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street. You won't want to miss it.
Upscale restaurants in the area include The Buccaneer (Bahamian cuisine with Caribbean-Chinese fusion), Tippy's (international and fusion), La Bougainvillea (international cuisine), 1648 Restaurant (Bahamian cuisine inspired by European influences), Bacchus Fine Foods (gourmet restaurant and food store), Pascal's at Sky Beach Club (International cuisine with Bahamian influences), and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks and seafood). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee shop and sandwiches), Mate and Jenny's (pizza and Bahamian), the Sunset Inn (local cuisine), and LeoRose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill (local cuisine, drinks, live music).
Governors Harbour airport is less than 15 minutes from the property. North Eleuthera Airport is one hour away. Non-stop flights are available from Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and Nassau.

Great location
2nd time back! Disappointing! The ladder to get up and down into the water (off the deck) was gone/broken. That was a major problem! Had a snake in the weeds that was not cut. Fabric on dining room chairs seats was torn up. The sliding door didn’t work properly. Obviously others have had problems too. Kitchen was not stocked well.

Beautiful setting! House needs some improvement. We had a lot of electrical issues.
We had to maintenance back at least 7 times and some of the issues were never resolved. The kitchen was poorly stocked… not enough utensils. More towels for the kitchen and bathrooms would have been appreciated.
The electrical issues were very concerning. Sometimes we would here snaps and then the fuses would not work anymore! We went several days with no hot water and poor water pressure. It is really hard to enjoy a vacation with so many things going wrong everyday! Sonya did her best to resolve our problems.

Relaxing and secluded
We had a great time and the house is just as pictured. It is secluded off the main road and was easy to locate when we arrived midday. We loved the pool and swimming in the ocean from the dock. There were a couple kayaks for guest use. Each room has its own A/C unit and the house was easy to keep comfortable in the July/August heat. Bed were comfortable. I do concur with other guests regarding the lack of kitchen tools/pans. There is a ton of empty drawer space but very limited kitchen items. A few baking sheets, mixing bowls and dishes would have come in handy for meals prepared at the house. Sonya was AMAZING to work with. She is very responsive and accommodating, and gave us some great tips on restaurants and places to hit up with on the island.

Fell in love
We fell in love with Eleuthera!! It was such a wonderful vacation and the home added so much to our trip. We really enjoyed the central location with only a few mins to the store but all alone on our little property with nobody else in sight.
The layout was wonderful for everyone to get their own space—our teenagers had their own rooms, opposite the family room and we had our privacy upstairs.
The washer and driver was a necessity with all the beach trips. We cooked breakfast and dinners at home and packed lunches for our day trips and the kitchen had everything we needed.
The dock and kayaks were amazing on good weather days. We saw a sting ray and fish off the dock. We also enjoyed the pool.
The house manager was great and even found someone to try to get our delayed baggage from the airport.
The white couches terrified me with teenage boys but the washable covers were reassuring. The only thing missing was a few more linens or a couch blanket. After a sunburn and long days, there many afternoon couch naps.
We packed a lot of snacks in our suitcase and were glad to have them. We also would have never found the house in the dark if I didn’t pin the location on my map beforehand. The white pergolas by the street are the only marker. If you set up your expectations that it’s an adventure, it will be a wonderful vacation…even if your bag is delayed 3 days.
We’ll be back!

Holiday Stay
Our family decided to skip the holidays and stay at Coral Point. We generally enjoyed the property very much. If you plan on cooking, I would suggest inquiring on basics to see if it can be stocked ( cooking sheets, mixing bowls).
The beds were all comfortable with nice and clean linens. The house was clean, and free of personalized items that can weigh down a rental. The views are outstanding - with stunning sunsets.
The highlight is the dock with access to the Caribbean Sea. We used the kayaks, and swam off the dock with ease. The plunge pool is good. It can be a little a chilly this time of year (December) if the sun is not out. Coral Point is an escape from the busy life, very quiet yet just minutes from Governors Harbour town, French Leave Beach, and many other spots. Would be happy to answer any questions for future renters, as I would recommend this location.

Amenities were not as listed
We had a hard time finding the property and had to call Sonya the property manager twice. The welcome letter does not give detailed instructions and the Homes on the island do not have numbers, only names. GPS is not accurate on Eleuthera. The pool was green with algae and sand was all over the bottom. We called Sonya and she tried to get someone over right away but it was 2 days before anyone came. He vacuumed it, scattered some chlorine and left. The pool needed a chemical added to kill the algae since chlorine will not always work once it is that badly. They didn’t even backwash the filter. He told us the filter is broken and the sand is blowing into the pool. And a part had been ordered. This pool is not properly maintained and needs an automatic chlorinator on it. We own a pool business and know how pools should be maintained. I was very disappointed that we were not able to enjoy the pool. This was the main reason for choosing this rental. Also, there was not a paddle board or complete snorkel gear…only the fins…no masks or snorkels. It is difficult to swim in the water due to the dock and the tide along with the rocky shoreline. This would not have been as much of a disappointment if the pool had been clean and we had been able to use it. The house could use a deep cleaning. There were lots of stains on interior doors, baseboards, and walls. Some of this was due to spills. It would be nice to have a mirror on the downstairs guest restroom. The house is very nice and does have a beautiful view, and with a few improvements could be a 5 star rental.

Family Getaway
The house was spotless upon checkin.
If you arrive on Sunday be prepared that most local markets are closed.
There was only one set of bath towels per person. An extra bath towel would be great. An extra blanket and pillows would also be great but beds were comfortable.
The pool was serviced a couple of times during the week we stayed and garbage was picked up several times.
The location is great and convenient to Governor’s Harbor but also very private. The kayaks were an added bonus and we used them several times. The paddle board had a very slow leak but an air pump was available when we wanted to use it. We had to retrieve the ladder from the water when we first swam off the dock. We made sure to pull it out after that so high tide and waves would not knock it off. Lots of fish to see right off the dock and we even saw a small nurse shark in the late afternoon once.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook except for a cookie sheet. We made one from foil however so no worries. The kitchen drawers have hidden drawers inside that hold utensils and cooking implements. The blender works great. The grill outside is practically brand new. We used it one night and the gas tank was full.
Sonya was very prompt to respond to texts with questions and made several great recommendations. You have to try The Buccaneer Club if you go in Governor’s Harbor. We ate there twice because the food and service was so excellent. The Friday night fish fry was also a fun event.

Excellent vacation home
Loved the house, beautiful both inside and out. The dock was ideal for our family to enjoy snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking and swimming. The house was private but close enough to town/restaurants. We enjoyed everything about our stay. Great home for families or just a couple. Highly recommend.!

Not as described
This property was not as described with the exception of the ocean views. The property is not maintained and the living room furniture should be replaced as well as the furniture in the twin bedroom. Don’t plan on cooking there as there are no pots and pans no cutting boards. The microwave is broken and the toaster only works on one side.
The towels in all the bathrooms are so old they have rips in them.
The grill is rusted inside and out I wouldn’t cook anything on it.
The ladder to get into the ocean was broken our entire stay and therefore was no way to use the kayaks
All in all very disappointing and the owner was very rude. My recommendation look for another place

Nice Spacious House on the Ocean
The property pictures were very accurate, and the house is situated just a few minutes away from Governor's Harbor by car (you wouldn't want to walk that distance). The best feature of the house is that it sits next to the ocean, and the dock you use to access the coral/rocky shoreline is a nice hang out spot. We spent a majority of our time here instead of the pool, and our family loved kayaking and swimming along the coast line. It's very quiet and secluded. The kitchen had the equipment we wanted to make our breakfasts and drinks (skillets, baking pan, coffee pot, blender), and the silverware and plate ware were nice.
The house manager, Sonya, was really nice and checked in on us from time to time to make sure our stay was going well. She bought us dinner on the first night since the property wasn't cleaned and our check-in process didn't go according to plan (we met another VRBO family that had the exact same issue with checking in to a dirty rental), and that was a very sweet gesture. She gave us recommendations for where to eat and find entertainment, and she did take some stress out of the experience.
Overall it's a great place if you want to enjoy some peace and quiet and stare out at the ocean. Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 kids) had plenty of space, and having a working washer and dryer was such an added bonus. I would definitely rent a car if you plan to stay here. The island has many good beaches, but everything is a little spread out so a car is a must have in my opinion.

Good location
Great floor plan for multiple couples and great location as home base to see the island. Very comfortable beds and luxurious thick towels (though some stained). Spectacular sunsets and beautiful water with some decent snorkeling! Surprised how worn the house was having just been built in last year or two. Windows would not open/stay open which made it impossible to open when we had nice breezes and temperatures. Never really had more than a couple minutes of warm water so we all got used to cold showers which was not pleasant. We are not fancy cooks but kitchen could use a bit more in the way of utensils - no can/bottle opener. The house manager was friendly and helpful but not always quick. House has great toys but no paddle for SUP and only two paddles to use across two single kayaks and a double kayak. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Eleuthera and would stay in general area of Governor's Harbour again,
