Gletschermühle Sie ist die größe des Schwarzwaldes. Zur Entstehung gibgt es verschiedene Versionen.
Schwarzenbächle nahe beim Krai-Woog-Gumpen
Der Wasserfall ("Krai-Woog-Gumpen") und die Gletschermühle gehören zu den schönsten, aber auch geheimnisvollsten Anziehungspunkten in der Natur des Oberen Hotzenwales. In der dichten Waldwildnis - ohne asphaltierte Straßen und von wenigen Holzwegen durchzogen - wurde die Gletschermühle erst 1952 durch Erwin Litzelmann entdeckt und frei gelegt. Namensherkunft "Krai" bedeutet: Laut sein, Schreien. Hochdeutsch verwand ist "Krähen". Hier ist aber mehr "lautes Rauschen" gemeint. Auf vielen Landkarten steht heute noch "Kleiner oder Klai-Wooggumpen": eine Umdeutung der preußischen Landvermesser die auch aus dem benachbarten "Turbenmoos" ein "Taubenmoos" machten, da sie nicht wussten, dass Torf alemannisch "Turben" heißt. "Woog" bedeutet Wasserfall. Hochdeutsch ist die "Woge"= größere Welle damit verwandt. "Gumpen" bedeutet als Verb "springen", "hüpfen" ( "ein Frosch gumpt ins Wasser"). Als Substantiv ist "Gumpen" ein Becken, sprachlich verwandt ein "Tümpel", in welches Wasser hinein fällt bzw. sich dort sammelt. Beides trifft hier zu. So wäre die Übersetzung für "Krai-Woog-Gumpen": Ein lauter (rauschender) Wasserfall, der in ein Becken spring.
