We stayed for a week in September. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't the greatest so we didn't get a chance to use the dock or paddle boat.
Pros:
- Well equipped with dishes and cutlery
- Nice interior with sufficient space for 4 adults
- Owner was quick to respond via email
- Lots of board games and children's toys to help pass the time.
- Life jackets available in the cottage.
- Fully functioning kitchen, lots of kitchen space, working oven, clean fridge. Dishwasher was broken though, but we managed without. Luckily we brought a dish sponge with us, as there wasn't any here.
Cons:
- One of the beds had some hairs in the sheets when we arrived. Luckily we had brought spare sheets with us so we swapped them out.
- Exterior: Dock area is a bit deteriorated. The deck needs a good cleaning, it gets slippery in the morning when it's damp with dew (mossy). The exterior lights don't work in the back, so we couldn't go outside when it was dark.
- Water pressure is pretty dismal. If anyone uses the water in the cottage, or used the water recently, the shower head pressure is practically just a trickle (we've been told that's common in cottages though)
- Bbq is missing the ignition switch. Looks like someone tried to ignite it without it and melted the bbq. We didn't end up using it.
- Satellite tv/cable doesn't work, or if it does, there was no instructions on how to switch it on.
Overall, a decent stay. Nice little getaway from the city, but with a bit of TLC it would have been more enjoyable.
