I like the fact that the standards of the Marriott was visibly noticeable. I could go as far to say that the hospitality was better.

Excellent choice if staying in Guyana for work

Cons: I was able to hear the person next to me too clearly walking around in heels very early in the morning. Perhaps sound proofing can be improved.
Excellent service from the staff who go out of their way to please. Very modern and clean, good food, convenient location if meeting in Georgetown.

Worst place to stay!

This hotel is the worst place to stay. Avoid staying there!!!! No customer service. Rude/racist guests. Food is overpriced. A lot of hidden fees. We were charged $95 for about 3 phone calls to the cab driver to verify if he was downstairs.

Fabulous upgrade amongst Guyana hoteliers

Firstly I haven't visited Guyana in over 17 years and I must say The Marriot Hotel was a welcoming surprise. From the modern and clean cut design to its pristine and plush bedding as well as the kept gym. Enjoying freshly squeezed guava juice and prawn cocktails were a sublime and relaxing experience at the poo l and jacuzzi. The staff was acceptionly gracious, particularly Ronell Gonzales , the night manager who assisted us with some late night yogurts for our upset stomach and sharing information on local crafts. Pamela and Daywattie at the front desk were exceptionally courteous, friendly, and helpful. Rest assure that I will definitely stay at the Marriott on my next trip to Georgetown, Guyana.

My son and I stayed for 2 nights at the Marriott. It was a pleasant experience for us. The food was great and the staff were very helpful and courteous. The room was clean and very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was the stream of water out of the shower was soft and not fierce enough, But overall it is a great hotel and I would recommend it to everyone I know.
