OK, but could be so much more

Negatives: Matted up hair on the drain in tub...obviously not cleaned thoroughly. Stains on bathroom floor (tile) also not cleaned thoroughly. Toilet and sink were OK. They painted the tile tub surround and it looks like a mess. Why not just put in a new surround? Positives: Price. Staff was very police and courteous. 3 Double beds in a room was fantastic for a our group of 5. Fridge and microwave in room were good. It was very quiet, no riffraff. Very close to Hobart College, lots of shopping and restaurant options on the same street. Overall: Location is optimal...this place could be soon much more than what it is with a little clean up and $ investment. Clean up the crap around back, do some minor upgrades to the bathrooms and this place could be a gold mine. I would only stay again if everything else in the area was booked or completely price gouged.

Good location good value

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We stayed in a room which had three double beds. The room was clean although i will say there was some sort of musty odor to it. The bathroom door was very hard to close and u needed to use all of your muscles to get it open. We did not have the complimentary breakfast so i cannot comment on that. It was very quiet overnight despite it being a race week in nearby watkins glen. This hotel is very close to many different restaurants and shopping. We were dropping our daughter off at keuka college and this was just a 20 minute drive away. As we only stayed overnight, we really did not encounter any problems or experience anything so horrible that we wouldnt come back. This is an affordable place to stay. I would recommend it.

Was not what i expected

Pros: Quiet
Cons: dirty
This hotel was just a one nite stay and boy i would of paid the extra money for a better hotel. The shower has black mold all over. The beds were bouncy and hard. They definately need to be made over. The Shower water was running hot and cold so you almost got burnt. There were flys in the room and my friend were fighting bees in there bathroom. The only good thing was the AC worked great. I was there for a wedding and glad it was only one nite. The pictures online must be of one of the rooms that nobody uses. All I have to say is i will never stay there again.

Last Alternative - Better than sleeping in the car, but not much

The name says value, but actually there is a shortage of hotels in the area and they gouge you every dime they can. It's a Holiday Inn price but it's closer to the New Delhi Inn. Run down and poorly maintained. I had to shove on the door with all I had to get it open. The room stunk, literally. I reserved non smoking but they only had smoking rooms available. Nice. One big hole in the wall by the front door had never been patched. Found another one in the bathroom. I had read all the negative reviews on here, but, I did not reserve something earlier and this was the last choice. Pretty disgusting.

It'll do in a pinch

I stayed during Parents' Weekend at HWS. My fault for saying I didn't care about smoking v non-smoking when I made the reso. Only a smoking room was available at check-in. I was offered a different room for the second night, but nothing was to be done for Friday. They were nice but I was stuck. I ended up with a room so full of residual smoke that I woke up in the middle of the night thinking someone was in the room with a lit cigarette. I left my clothes in my bag and still had to buy Febreez the next day. The next night the room was fine. The hotel is old-school and the rooms are nothing special, but it was warm and safe. My real complaint is that the room cost was about 25% higher than its value. Granted it was Parents' Weekend, but this was too expensive for what I got. If I had to stay again I would, but with better planning, I'll be booking elsewhere when visiting.,

Very bad hotel to stay in, terrible room

To start the room smelled terrible, there were no towels in the room what so ever and we had the jacuzzi room. The ceiling was peeling and falling down right over our heads when we were in the bed, and the so called new beds were like sleeping on a mortuary slab. The jacuzzi was not cleaned properly and the shower had mildew in the grouting that was dark enought to look like eye liner. THe next mornign we went for the free breakfast and that was a joke, no juice in the machine, just water, when we asked for the juice to be refilled we were ignored, cold cereal and old dounuts were all that was out - unless we wanted to wait the 25 min in line to make our own waffle....We were completely disgusted and felt ripped off. We paid $*plus taxes for this room and it was not worth it at all. I would never, ever suggest this place to anyone.

Would not stay again!

This place had definitely not been remodeled despite other reviews claiming that it was. The only thing that was new was the carpet. The location was not the best and you were cautious when you went outside. In the bathroom there was a window with no curtain which I found to be disturbing. Thank goodness my daughter and I only had to stay here for 2 nights if it would've been any longer we would've found somewhere else to stay after we saw our room. Best thing I can say about this place is that the bed was okay and the water was hot when you took a shower.

Glad we Went

Because of the reviews we read we almost did not book a room, but then decided to give a try. We were pleasantly suprised with our room. We had three(3) double beds and they were all okay. The linens were clean, we had plenty of towels and the room was not bad either. This is not a new motel by any means and there were a minor things that could be improved. The tub did not drain properly and We reported this problem to the staff who seem glad we did. The location is good with plenty of resturants an shopping close by. We felt it was a good value and would not be afraid to stay again. Bonus--It was half the price of most the other motels.
