Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Townsend is a great quiet alternative to the overdeveloped area surrounding gatlinburg.

Biking Cades Cove

From checking in to checking out, hotel staff were courteous. I felt safe since the room entrance was outside instead of within the hotel. Nice breakfast with hot and cold food selections. Hotel is within a 45 minute drive to the Smokey Mountains entrance. I would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. It was clean and convenient to everything. The property needs an update but it was a nice as you can make a 40 year old hotel without major upgrades. Best western has recently removed coffee pots from rooms. That stinks! The breakfast area had good food and coffee starting at 7.

The staff at the front desk do not match the quality of the Best Western. I asked the front staff if I could get a “light blanket” to sleep in as I was feeling hot and he said “we are out of stock”. Then I asked if I could get a “sheet” to take on me and off course he plainly refused. This is the first time that a hotel like BW didn’t want to accommodate. And at the breakfast time the lady was watching everyone like a “spy”. How can you enjoy your breakfast if you are being watched. Ridiculous people. I like and love the BW but it may change after today.
