Fuengirola is a lively coastal town on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, sitting between Málaga city and Marbella. Everything is easy, the town is flat, walkable, well connected by train, and packed with everyday services alongside beaches, restaurants and cafés. The atmosphere is relaxed and sunny, with a strong mix of Spanish locals and international residents, especially from northern Europe.



The heart of Fuengirola is the town centre, where you’ll find busy pedestrian streets, traditional plazas, shops, tapas bars and nightlife. It’s energetic and convenient, though it can be noisy and crowded in summer. Just east of the centre is Los Boliches, which used to be a small fishing village and still feels more local and traditional. It’s known for its neighbourhood bars, small shops and a strong community feel, while still being right by the beach and having its own train station.



Nearby attractions you can find are the innovative Bioparc Fuengirola, the historic Sohail Castle, or indulge in a variety of water sports available at the beach. Lastly, the commercial shopping centre Miramar, where you can shop for everything you need.



Getting Around:

On foot

Calle Nueva is in the central area of Fuengirola, so it’s easy to reach by walking if you’re staying nearby. The town is flat and very walkable, and most central streets are pedestrian-friendly.



By local bus

Fuengirola has several local bus lines (L1–L5) that connect neighbourhoods like Los Boliches, Los Pacos and Torreblanca with the town centre. You can get off at a nearby stop and walk the last few minutes to Calle Nueva.



By train (Renfe Cercanías C-1)

If you’re coming from Málaga, the airport, or nearby towns, the C-1 train brings you to Fuengirola station. From the station, Calle Nueva is within walking distance or a very short taxi or bus ride.



By taxi or ride-hailing

Taxis are easy to find around the centre and at the train station, and services like Uber or Bolt also operate in Fuengirola. They can drop you off directly on or near Calle Nueva.



By car
