What a Spot!

It is truly a four-season view! The home has plenty of space and is nestled over the river perfectly. The owners/property managers were responsive, kind and accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone and everyone!

Beautiful Place to Stay

What a treat to enjoy such a peaceful place in nature with deer and turkeys running around each day. The birds were also amazing. Then to enjoy such a great spot along the river with an open area, dock and places to sit was very special. The fire pit was great for the family and for our grandson to experience his first marshmallow roast. The cabin was well done -with nice furniture, comfy beds, and just very quaint. Everything was stocked well in the kitchen. The outside deck sitting area was very nice as well. The hosts were very responsive to questions and needs. You can tell they really care to make things work for their guests. Thank you to the family for sharing such a beautiful setting and home that made our family get together very special.

Beautiful views in an adorable space

A group of friends and I were looking for a location along the Shenandoah river to relax , float, and just be together. The Snug definitely fit most of our needs. The house is adorable with beautiful decks overlooking the water. We enjoyed most of our time outdoors on the main floor deck. The fire pit was wonderful as well and the property managers were super responsive when we requested more wood for an additional fire the next night as we had used it all the first evening. The River access, while private, was a little challenging to say the least for some of our group- we even called the property manager to see if other houses on the property had a less steep/ shorter walk down to the water. It isn’t for everyone. The path while clearly marked was very rocky and the leaves made it a little slick. The water off the dock was quite deep so it was a good access point for the kayaks but not a dock to go sit on to relax together. The photos also made it seem a little closer to the house as if you could see a group in the water from the deck and we did not feel that was clear- but to be fair, we didn’t ask either. Since we had dogs with us and wanted them to be able to swim and stand on the edge of the river, given the murky slippery coast area we went off property instead to access it. All in all a wonderful house for anyone looking for a quiet getaway- just be prepared if you want to be in the water

Excellent stay in an awesome location

My family and I stayed at the River Snug property for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. We have stayed at many vacation rental houses and this is easily in the top 5%. The location of the house is unbeatable - beautiful fields in the front with a front row seat to spectacular sunrises and walk to the river in the backside. The pictures do not do full justice to the beauty of the house - there are 3 levels to the house with a bedroom & bath in each level and a balcony/deck in all levels. Very comfortable beds and stylish bathrooms . There are loads of books in all the levels and games in the basement . We loved the fully loaded kitchen - has everything that you can think of- from cookie sheets to large pots and pans plus 2 types of coffee makers. Usually vacation rentals come with limited cleaning supply but this house has enough to last a couple of weeks or more . They have even thoughtfully kept bug sprays for the outdoors. We enjoyed the beautiful deck and the fire pit and rocking chairs. We had a good time canoeing in the Shenandoah river . Don’t miss going on hikes in their property- the views are gorgeous. It would be a good idea to get all your groceries so that you do not need to leave the place for a couple of days .kudos to property manager Grace who was always on hand to answer texts or phone calls to provide guidance on questions abt the house or the area. Definitely recommend Rolling river holidays homes !!

Beautiful property

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Both the house and the property are breathtaking and the amenities were great. We had plenty of room to spread out when needed, and come together when we wanted. Although the drive up can be a little challenging, it’s well worth it when you arrive if you’re looking to’get away from it all’!

Nature retreat.

Beautiful home with great access to the river. Did a lot of fishing. We saw wild turkeys. We used the Merlin app to record the birds around us and it almost couldn’t keep up with the variety. Hot tub was nice and the house was clean and well laid out. The sound buttons are on the side of the remote and the silverware is in the lip drawer of the cabinet next to the garbage can cabinet

Excellent Choice

We were going to Winchester for my wife’s new grandbabies dedication to the church. It was the apple blossom festival weekend, so there were no rooms in Winchester, but this fantastic property sits right on the Shenandoah River, which is where I learned to fish it earlier in my life, sadly we did not get to enjoy the property that much as the weekend was built around our granddaughter, but the peace and serenity that the owners have put into this house, put some very interesting architecture made it a perfect choice for us to stay there. The only drawback which was clearly outlined in the discussion of the property was that to get to the three level floors the only staircase is a spiral staircase today I have had two joint replacements, so it was a small bit of a challenge, but certainly nothing that would prevent me from coming back. it was within 10 to 15 minutes of some very good food in front Royal and overall we had a fabulous weekend celebrating the dedication of the grand child to our Lord

The Snug

Great house, just the right size. I liked having bedrooms on different levels, giving everyone privacy. Communication was great. House was clean, everything worked, and lots of kitchen supplies. It is somewhat remote, which was great (good views of nature, no views of neighbors, lots of space). However, you need to plan accordingly with groceries, etc. We would stay here again if back in area.

Excellent getaway for the family, loved the wide open spaces and views of the river. Only draw back stairs were a little slippery, took a little spill. Maybe some grip strips? But otherwise fabulous would like to try their other properties! Thanks the Oleniks ( the dogs loved it too!)

Amazing oasis!

This was our first time at the Snug and it will not be our last! The entire property is perfect and cozy. Although the weather wasn’t great for our entire stay we were still able to tool around the grounds and enjoy the outdoors. We enjoyed the amazing balconies and took advantage of the hot tub and game room. Although it was just my husband and I traveling with our two dogs it would also be a great place for a larger group. Amazing little oasis! Highly recommend!

We stayed for new years and it was awesome. Quiet and relaxing. Home was comfy and great. The only thing is the stairs are spiral so if you are elderly or have a large dog it would be hard to navigate. Nice space though and cozy.

Great place to escape and relax

This house was wonderful! Aside from it being a beautiful home, it was clean, comfortable and well stocked. The kitchen had everything you’d need. The furniture (indoor and outdoor) was cozy and the beds were very comfortable. Everyone slept well. We all loved seeing the deer right out the window. And the views were breathtaking. Our hosts were gracious and quick to respond. We were even offered a late checkout- which we happily accepted.

My friends from nursing school had a reunion at this property. It was absolutely stunning, and perfect for our group. Although it was a rainy weekend, we had an amazing time…The hot tub was a major plus. The view of the river was so tranquil, I would highly recommend this property

Amazing property

Our family loved this place. Everything was perfect. The setting is so peaceful with the farm out front and river in the back. The house is just so comfortable and well stocked, and communication with checking in and out was so easy. Any questions were answered almost immediately. We absolutely would stay here again and are hoping for a fall getaway to do more exploring in Shenandoah National Park which is a short distance from The property. Great house for outdoor adventures

This is a great house to rent. A perfect family vacation. The house offers plenty of space for all members of the family, the dogs enjoyed running free outside and playing with the deer, swimming in the river and beside us when we kayaked and tubed. Great relaxing vacation. Grace was available for anything we needed. Hope to rent again.

Amazing Getaway!

We love this property. We have been twice and every time, we don’t want to leave. Beautiful decks and views. Love the hot tub and access to the river with kayaks provided. Also so easy to get to downtown Front Royal and area attractions, like caverns, hikes, and Skyline drive. Well stocked kitchen with lots of little extras. We hope to come back again next year.

My family had an amazing time at the Snugg! The house is located along the Shenandoah River. We had fun kayaking, hanging around the house, and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit. Incredible place to stay

The pictures do not even do this house justice. It is a dream house and so so beautiful. There were so many different options for areas to hang out around the house and property and they all have stunning views. We cooked all our meals in the house and the kitchen was so well equipped with everything you could need and more. We had the most lovely, memorable trip in this house and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Epic getaway!

This place could not have been any more enjoyable then what we experienced. Sure perfection! Other Air B’s should take notes fron these guys. Nothing was forgotten. We decided on making this property our go to place. I can go on and on. This is a must see!
