Dream destination for Cyclists and RIVERSPORTS enthusiasts! This bright and spacious home located directly alongside the famous NEW RIVER TRAIL and the vast NEW RIVER in picturesque historic Fries, VA (pronouced "Freeze"). While enjoying all the amenities of home, guests can choose to relax and enjoy the views from inside or venture out onto the trail for a walk or bike ride to enjoy unobstructed views of the River and all the surrounding natural landscape and nature of which there is plenty! Two bicycles available for use at the house as well as local rental for kayaking, tubing and other water sports.

This place was perfect. We were looking for a quiet retreat on the New River Trail with room for teens/young adults to be able to "get away" from the parents but also have space to hang out, and this was a great choice. Lots of new stuff in the house, great communication, and an overall relaxing experience.

ADEQUATE STAY

The best thing about the house was that it was close to the New River Trail, as riding the trail was the purpose of our stay. Several things were disappointing, first impression of the house was that it could use a thorough cleaning, looking as if it was just a surface clean. There was a hot tub noted in the description when we booked, but there was not one. There was an issue with the heating system while we were there also. Many kitchen items needed to be updated. The owners are new and let me know of some things they will be changing. They were very responsive to my comments directly to them, so I am hopeful that there will be improvements for future guests. It is an older home and the photos in the listing seemed to be accurate and met our expectations in that regard. I would contact the owners with any questions as they were very pleasant and responsive with us.
