The open-plan living and dining area is bright, welcoming, and easygoing, with comfortable seating for the family and a dining table for four perfect for meals, morning coffee, or a board game after a day at the beach.



One of the best little spots in the unit is the desk and chair, positioned to catch the refreshing sea breeze and offer a glimpse of the ocean.



For Tasmania’s famously changeable weather, the reverse-cycle air conditioner provides both heating and cooling.

Whalers Lookout: a great option for coastal views and a short scenic walk

Bicheno beaches and coastline: easy to explore from the area



For fresh seafood, Freycinet Marine Farm is around 20 minutes south and makes a fantastic stop while exploring the coast.



Freycinet National Park — Around 35 Minutes



The entrance and Wineglass Bay area of Freycinet National Park are approximately 30 km south, making it easy to enjoy one of Tasmania’s most iconic destinations as a day trip.



Bay of Fires — Around 1 Hour 15 Minutes



Head north toward St Helens and Binalong Bay to experience the dramatic coastline and famous orange-lichen-covered granite rocks of the Bay of Fires region.



And before heading out on your adventures, make time for fresh bakery treats from the local Bicheno Bakery!



Getting Around



A car is highly recommended for making the most of Tasmania’s East Coast. Many of the region’s beaches, national parks, food producers, and scenic attractions are easiest to reach by car.



Parking: One complimentary dedicated car space is located directly beside the unit.



Hobart Airport (HBA): Approximately 2 hours / 170 km by car.



Launceston Airport (LST): Approximately 2 hours 15 minutes / 155 km by car.



Public transport: Services in this part of Tasmania are limited, and rideshare availability can be unreliable. We strongly recommend bringing your own vehicle or hiring a car at the airport.

Unit 16 is an authentic, older-style beach unit, and its charm comes from its relaxed, well-loved character. You may notice a few quirks, such as creaky floorboards or signs of its age—that’s all part of the classic Aussie beach-shack experience.



We’ve focused on making the important things comfortable, with reliable heating and cooling, quality linen and towels, Wi-Fi, and a well-equipped kitchen.
