In the property is going through renovation, and there are places where it's a little bit worn that I assume they're going to still renovate. But the people running out are very nice, my room was clean and comfortable. It was a good value.

I think this is the third time I’ve stayed at this property, I know I was just here about 10 days ago. It’s nice and clean, the beds are very comfortable, and it’s right on the main route through town, so it’s easy to find, it’s easy in and out. The people who work here or who are running in the place seem quite personable.

The lobby was clean. There was hot breakfast every morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. Their was mold and pink bacteria growing in the shower. It was hard to figure out how to get a warm shower. The tiles in the bathroom were caving in and close to falling of the shower walls. There were cockroaches, crickets, dirt , and grimy windows in the hallways. At the end of our hallway there was an empty hotel room with the door open. That's where they kept the cleaning cart but the room was also covered with dirty clothes and towels and it smelled like urine.

Hotel was amazing. It’s being newly renovated with new owners so there it lots going on. But it was perfect. The staff was some of the nicest I’ve ever had at hotels. Super clean room.

Breakfast was to go to 9am but nothing left by 830. Shower curtain had shoe prints on it Dryer off button would not work had to unplug to shut off. Only 2 standard pillows on a king bed.

Worst place for seniors

Bed too high for my parents in their it's. Hard to get them in and out. Didn't have a recliner to use and would not allow us to borrow chair for overnight from lobby so my mom can sleep. Can't sleep on her back due to breathing problems, so while we were in the room my mother age 75 had to sleep in the car and recliner the seats back. Unfair and unjust for the elderly! They don't accompany senior citizens at all. Tub was very slippery and no grab bars. My dad almost fell out.

The room, yes, was small, but when a couple that has been married 50+ years goes on roadtrips, all that we need is a comfortable bed and pillows, a decent Continental breakfast, and a few other amenities to be content. I confess that there being no elevator and being on the third floor required me to haul all the luggage up and down. My wife has had knee replacement surgeries on both knees and a spinal fusion surgery; hence she experienced difficulty going up and down, even without luggage. Even in museums we have secured wheelchairs or scooters. Shifting to the positive, we were satisfied with the location, cleanliness, staff, etc. Overall, a satisfactory stay.

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. I have seen cleaner outhouses or truck stops When walking to our room the hallways were littered with garbage including rotting food chicken bones etc. The smell was terrible. Once we got to our room opened the door and were greeted by swarming flys everywhere and other weird bugs The walls and floors were filthy with who knows what on them This place was beyond anything I have ever seen and should be knocked down or burned. South Dakota heath inspector should pay a visit and no one should stay here Gross

Ghetto and unsafe

We come to Pierre at least every other year to fish Oahe Dam and stayed at this property before so we knew this wasnt a 5 star resort, but was comfortable enough and in a convenient area. We especially liked the gated boat area in the back so we booked a week this year again. Upon arrival, weeds were atrocious- pretty sure nobody had mowed all year and it is August. Trash cans over flowing, the gated boat area we liked was now a storage area for broken down/abandoned vehicles. Speaking with some locals, they said the hotel was under different ownership and has turned into a crime hot-spot in Pierre. We were going to tough it out until the cops were called and some kind of craziness exploded 2 doors down from our room. Cops were there all night and all the next day. We called hotels.com and told them we needed the heck out of this hotel because it now felt completely unsafe. After stalling and 4 calls about this issue, the hotel manager finally got around to refunding us. We will never book this hotel again.

For the safety of our health, we ended up leaving this hotel upon seeing two rooms. The entrance had overflowing garbage, the firepit was filled with garbage and pizza boxes, the hallway to our room smelled of rotting food from overflowing garbage can near the vending machine. And there was an overwhelming smell of marijuana in the hallway leading to our room. We entered the room and the chairs were covered in stains and white residue. We told management about it - the second room they showed us was not any better. There were flies everywhere. We told the desk manager that for our safety and well-being of our health, we could not stay there and left. We took photos and sent them to Expedia requesting a full refund. The hotel said they would grant that but it’s been a week and we still have not gotten our money back.
