The Florentine Renaissance (Duomo)

The apartment is located in the best area of Florence for visiting Museums, Churches, Monuments and shops, and it is surrounded by good eateries. Just steps away from the Duomo, Michelangelo's Medici Chapels, and the charming Ponte Vecchio. Everything is within easy walking distance, making a car and public transport unnecessary. Built between the 1300s and the 1500s, the apartment has terracotta floors and ancient oak-beamed ceilings, has a large bedroom with a double and a single bed, and a large entrance room with an additional double sofabed which can be seen in the photos.
The bathroom is small and basic with toilet, shower and sink. The kitchen is well equipped with everything necessary for self catering in comfort, including a coffee maker, kettle, microwave oven and washing machine. This area also comprises a dining area with a large table and comfortable chairs. The apartment offers high-speed internet access, heating and air conditioning.

The host was very prompt in replying to questions and the person who met us was very welcoming and gave us detailed information on how everything worked. The location was fantastic: a 10- minute walk from the train station, in the charming older centre of Florence, close to Basilica San Lorenzo, the Mercato Centrale, the Medici Chapel, and with undemanding walks to the Duomo and Uffizi. There was a convenience store nearby with basic groceries and other necessities. There were many nice little places to eat in the immediate vicinity.The apartment was comfortable, well-equipped and spacious. There were two of us, but 3 or 4 people would have been comfortable here. The lift for luggage ( or two slim people) was a life-saver, as there were many stairs to climb otherwise. Things that would improve the experience even more: provide fabric tea towels for drying the dishes and provide a reading light next to the single bed in the bedroom. The unique bathroom arrangement means that one must walk over the shower floor in order to reach the toilet, so using the provided wooden cover for the wet shower floor would be helpful. We didn’t figure this out until the last day!We were very happy with our accommodations and would stay here again!

Fabrizio and Diego were wonderful hosts. They were very responsive to any problems we had. We booked one of Fabrizio’s day trips to Lucca and Pisa. It was fantastic! The trip also included lunch and a wine tasting from a family run winery in Monte Carlo. Both wine and lunch were delicious! We would highly recommend both the unique property and caring and thoughtful hosts.

Our stay was nice with a great location in the center of florence. The bathroom was a little bit challenging with a toilet and shower combination and a low shower head (my husband and son are 6 feet tall). It was also really hot during our stay and we appreciated the air conditioning but it was still a bit warm). The space was large and our family of 5 had plenty of space.

Our stay was absolutely amazing. Fabrizio and Diego were very kind and friendly. Check in was easy and thorough with Diego providing us all directions. Location was great and very walkable. The place offered all needed amenities (I.e., washer & dryer, AC, and even a lift!) Only hang ups are the amount of stairs and the tiny bathroom. Otherwise, fantastic place!

Perfect location!

We had a great stay here! It is walking distance to everything. The unit is spacious, has everything you might need and the air conditioning worked very well and fans were also available. There are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the apartment and a tiny elevator to utilize for luggage. And as the listing and other reviews state, the bathroom is very small. We are fairly small people and it worked out just fine, but I can see how larger people may have an issue with it.

Location, location, location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Florentine Renaissance apartment. It was spacious, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Best of all was the location. We were able to walk everywhere, rarely needing to get a cab. Central market is located right behind the apartment where you are able to find some great deals. We enjoyed the Tratorria Zaza restaurant around the corner (reservations highly recommended). Ate there a couple of times. Food is delicious and reasonable. Fabrizio and Diego were great with communication. Highly recommend!

Exceeded Expectations

I cannot say enough about our three nights spent at The Florentine Renaissance (Duomo). The host was very accommodating and went out of their way to take care of us. My wife & I loved the eclectic, quirky interior design which was very spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect for walking to any location throughout the city of Florence. If you are able to book one of the private tours offered by the host, Fabrizio, do not hesitate. Fabrizio is a gem and a true Italian Gentleman. He took my wife & I on a private tour through the Chianti region visiting small villages for shopping and cappuccinos as well as unique private wine tours. This was one of the highlights of our ten day trip to Italy and Fabrizio's kind spirit, knowledge of the area and connections to the locals exceeded our expectations for the day. We cannot thank him enough.

Great Apartment Next to San Lorenzo

We enjoyed our stay at Fabrizio's apartment in San Lorenzo. It's location was excellent, a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and a 10 minute walk to the train station. We enjoyed going to the Mercato Centrale, again a 5 minute walk away. Great restaurants were within easy walking distance. The apartment's kitchen/living and bedroom were very large by European standards. It's quirky decorations added to the charm. The bathroom, as noted in previous reviews, was very small. Diego checked us in and went over the operations of the appliances, which was greatly appreciated. The only difficulty we had was operating the small shower. Because of limited electrical capacity and the age of the building, it was difficult to maintain a constant supply of warm water. In addition, clothes had to be dried on a portable dryer with clothespins. In addition, Fabrizio offers tours of the Tuscan area. He took us on an excellent tour of the countryside, including San Gimignano, Siena, and a winery. Definitely recommend the tour. I would recommend this apartment with the above-mentioned concerns. Heart of Florence

Fabulous location within walking distance to everything. Only two small drawbacks. A very tiny bathroom with toilet and shower area combined and the street is very noisy at night. We shut the windows after the first night and it was fine. A lovely apartment and super clean. The bed is very comfortable and large!

Spectacular Location

Close to the train station and the Duomo. The livingroom and bedroom are very big but the bathroom is very small. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. It was great to have the elevator to bring our luggage up. The small shower was a challenge for us as we are both tall.The hosts are helpful and communication was excellent.

What a unique spot right in the heart of Florence!!

This place is perfectly situated in one of the best parts of Florence. We were able to walk EVERYWHERE, even with 3 kids. There was also a helpful supermarket around the corner for basics and a contact who was there for us at any point of the stay if we had questions or needed recommendations. We loved it!!

Great location

This was a perfect location in Florence and the apartment suited our needs. The bathroom was very small and the shower configuration is odd. It’s an old building in Italy with lots of charm. The apartment is a 4th story walk up. We didn’t know this prior to arrival. There is a washer and it’s very nice that the owner has detergent for guests to use. There is not a dryer as stated in the listing. The “dryer” is a rack which is typical in Europe. We didn’t cook but there were plenty of supplies to do so along with a small fridge. There’s a fabulous bakery and the market just a 2 minute walk away. Check in was easy and Diego was very accommodating with allowing us to leave our bags and return after the check in time.
