What a fantastic little gem we found. Our hosts Chris and Julie were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and we will definitely be returning. Would highly recommend staying here. Its a great base for exploring the beautiful countryside and coastal areas . 10/10

If you are looking for an excellent B&B, the Southgate is the one. We had a warm welcome from Chris and Julie and they were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was outstanding and everywhere was pristine. Everything you needed in the room with a comfortable bed, on-suite walk in shower and hairdryer. Best bed and breakfasts in the Filey area.

Both myself and my husband have stayed in many establishments on the East coast. The Southgate tops the lot. Chris and Julie are fantastic hosts and remembered us from last time we came a few years ago. Everything was spottless, the room amazing and breakfast super yummy served to perfection. We will definitely be returning.
