The vehicular barge from Kuwait City to Failaka Island. There are no amenities on board and in 2006 the timings were erratic and there was no schedule in English or English speakers at the terminal, but somehow I still managed to get there and back again... It looks like the Heritage Village has been restored and is up and running again, so there are probably more facilities here now.

This was taken in 2006, so not sure if things have changed since then. Failaka Island was an Iraqi stronghold during the gulf war and as a result was bombed and saw heavy artillery fire. It was emptied of Kuwaiti citizens before it was overtaken, but very few citizens had returned. Nature still finds a way to recover though...
This was the bank on the island. There was a burglar alarm hanging ironically from the wall. Artillery fire was from the first gulf war.
