Lakeside Inn has an old charm from the past. The grounds are very pleasing with views across the lake. Easy walking distance to the centre of Mt Dora for shopping and dining.

Spent three nights at lakeside inn. Our room was located in one of the newer (1920’s) buildings across from the main hotel. I love staying in historic hotels. For charm, the inn did not disappoint. The room was located on the 2nd floor and faced the front and side. Overall the room was adequate however the bathroom really needs to be updated. The only issue we endured was that an attic ventilation fan runs all day and all night. The exhaust fan is located directly above our room and at night was very, very noticeable. The main building across the street offered a bar and dining room. We had a cocktail at the bar one evening and we had breakfast in the restaurant one of the mornings. Both were acceptable. Pleasant and friendly staff always greeted us. We enjoyed the history of the hotel, the city of Mt Dora and explored each and every shop during our 3-night stay.

Best location in Mt Dora

We loved the Inn atmosphere. The location is perfect, sunsets, lakeside bar, live music, rocking chairs on porch. The food in the dining room was tasty and reasonable. However, our room in the main building needed new carpet. Carpet in room and going up the stairs was filthy. I am hoping it is scheduled for replacement. I think the rooms in the newer buildings might be much better.

Hotel is nice Rooms are small but quaint. Restaurant food leaves a lot to be desired. Dinner lacked taste and Breakfast they were out of oatmeal ? Grits, Biscuit and English were cold ! Breakfast was overpriced @ $39 for 2 Won’t be going back

Lakeside Inn review

A beautiful quant, very charming hotel, very clean and very comfortable. The room wad a little dated, but the location was perfect right on the water, close to shops, restaurants, and festivals.

We stay here every few months. Only downside is that the walls are very thin and you hear everything from the neighbors and the hallway. If you sleep soundly, you’ll be fine. It’s in an amazing location.

There was black mold around all the windows the room smelled of must and mold had to have it sprayed the tub had mold around it and the linercof the tub was coming off took 10 minutes each time to get hot water i think ill pass on staying there next time

Lakeside Inn is so so fabulous. So beautiful. So serene and relaxing by the whole lake area. Nice for about 2-3 days. Nice walking in shops and browsing. People all so awesome. Lots of food options. Loved being there. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend for everyone to relax in this area. Wr absolutely loved loved loved it.

They still use metal keys, and my key did not work. I had to find a staff member to help me get in my room. The property has a lot of character, and the location is superb.

Great location but…

The Lakeside inn is located in a beautiful spot however the smell of mildew is very strong. Also the bed linens were quite worn and yellowed. The staff was warm & welcoming.

Just plain perfect

My new go-to favorite place. This is a gorgeous, historical hotel close in walking distance to everything Mount Dora has to offer! They even have a fantastic scavenger hunt you can do for a prize! Clean, elegant, beautiful, just plain perfect! Ask to play games on the garden lawn, too!
