View from Elmina Castle. My visit there was one of the best and saddest moments of the trip to Ghana.
You can't really say how powerful it is going to be until you find yourself there.

P.S. More on my visit there and on what I felt (in Romanian)--

The fishing villages of Cape Coast, Ghana provide a source of economic stability for the city. Located next to Elmina Castle-a former slave trading post-the fishing ports are a colorful display and a must-see when visiting Ghana. Some other sites to see in Cape Coast include: The University of Cape Coast, Kakum National Park, Cape Coast Castle, and a variety of beautiful beaches. #Culture #Ghana #CapeCoast

This view is from Elmina Castle, in Ghana. It was completed in 1486 by the Portuguese. From 1637-1872 it became property of the Dutch. In 1872 it was ceded to Britain. It was also one of the gateways for slaves to board ships to America. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. History can be seen inside these walls.
