Mountaintop Ranch is a secluded ranch in the famous Blue Ridge Mountains that has been in the Cunningham Family for over 50 years.
Our picturesque trails pass through the high country, scenic mountain meadows and wooded areas of the famous Blue Ridge. The Ranch borders The Shenandoah National Park on 3 sides. You can take a 10 min. hike from the ranch and be within the boundaries of the remote regions of the National Park. It is a short 25 min drive to the Swift Run Gap entrance to Skyline Drive. We are also 17 miles from the four season resort, Massanutten.
The experience of staying in a log cabin is unique depending on the season . The main heat source for the cabin is a wood stove which makes for some very cozy nights. We also supply space heaters for colder months as an additional heat source.
We feel blessed to be able to share the Ranch with you. All are welcome here! We're happy to welcome well-behaved dogs so the whole family can enjoy your mountain getaway! with 400 acres of beautiful ranch land, there's plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors together.
To help keep the cabin and property enjoyable for everyone, please note:
*Dogs are welcome
*A pet fee applies
*Dogs must be kept on a leash while in the cabin area (keep in mind, there are other pets that live on the ranch)
*Please clean up after your pet
*Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pets

The Neighborhood:
400 acres of private mountain property deep in the heart of Appalachia. Elkton, VA sits directly at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Recognized as the 50th official Appalachian trail community, it serves as the ultimate base camp for exploring the deep historic hollows of the region. Mountaintop Ranch is located at the end of Jollett Hollow.
Getting Around:
You will be driving on a 1-mile mountain driveway to reach your cabin, which is doable with a 2WD in good weather conditions. However, in messy weather conditions, AWD/4WD is recommended.
Other Things to Note:
One of the main perks of Mountaintop Ranch is its remote location and disconnect from worldly distractions. Each cabin has their individual internet service.
Bring bug spray, comfortable shoes, and always be prepared for changes in weather conditions. Expect to see a variety of wildlife; be sure to respect their space.
