¿Busca una cabaña frente al mar que sea ideal para familias con casi todas las comodidades que pueda imaginar? ¡Bueno, tu búsqueda ha terminado ahora que has encontrado el Nido del Cardenal, uno de nuestros alquileres de cabañas más populares en el Cranberry Creek de Carolina del Norte! Ya sea diversión de verano con paseos en bicicleta, balsa por el río, piragüismo, kayak, paseos a caballo o diversión en el invierno en la sala de juegos con mesa de ping pong, televisión de alta definición con pantalla plana de alta definición o malvaviscos asados en la fogata, junto al arroyo, esta es la verdadera casa. Ofrece diversión y disfrute sin importar la temporada. El Nido del Cardenal tiene cuatro habitaciones, tres de las cuales tienen camas dobles y la otra habitación tiene dos camas individuales. También en la planta baja hay un sofá cama (tamaño queen). Esta acogedora casa completará su única estancia en la montaña.

We had a wonderful time here. The front room with the fireplace was our favorite spot in the house. Very cozy. The view was beautiful and the couches were comfortable.

Long Weekend with Friends

We loved our stay at Cardinals Nest. The house is beautiful and well maintained. Our party of 10 (five adults, and five kids ages 6-12) slept comfortably and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen was well-stocked with sufficient pots, pans, utensils, etc. for making meals for a large group. Easy access to Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Hawks Nest. We were lucky enough to be there when the area got a good foot of snow and it was absolutely beautiful.

Amazing view & lovely get away

We bought our 3 teen girls and their best friends on a holiday trip to ski & see snow. Many of them had never seen it. This house was perfect for what we needed. The teens only complaint was the wifi didn't work very well so they had to disconnect from the tv and phones more often. haha. They survived. The master bed was SUPER comfy! The house was beautiful and the location was amazing.

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful cabin. We weren’t able to ask ahead of time for a later checkout so we asked in the allowed time and never got a response from the company. There were empty water bottles, tons of dust bunnies, and empty wine corks left on the floor. Could be cleaned by staff better, but overall a beautiful property with a good lay out, no neighbors literally on top of you, and the gas logs didn’t work.

Cabin Review

The house is nice. The A/C did not work. There were several lights that did not work. One important one was where you entered the property. It was at the back of the house and it was REALLY dark. Location, for me, was not great. It was a bit of a drive to Boone and Blowing Rock where there are things to do. Not much to do in the immediate area. It’s right up from the road so you can hear vehicle noise. The creek below was pretty. I liked the gated entrance into the neighborhood.

Not as advertised

We went to the Cardinals Nest to get away from the Florida heat. We wanted fresh cool air, open windows and the sound of a babbling brook to relax to. What we got was a cabin with alot of religious overtones and completely inaccessible area of water that has signs for no fishing. Not sure where they want you to kayak or tube like they say in the description. The water is not for any of that. Then when you add the incredibly loud highway right at the base of the house, it was terrible. Non stop truckers, weekend cars squealing their tires, just continuous noise. So much so we couldn’t even enjoy the outside patio or rocking chairs or leave any windows open. We did bring this to the attention of the rental company ASAP and moved. It’s unfortunate that the rental company did not help us in getting a partial refund for false advertising and yet we used them to find our second property. The owners should be notified that they need to redo their listing to accurately describe the cabin.

Overall good

We woke up sweating in the middle of the night our first night there. Both thermostats were set to 71 but the temperature on the main floor was 80. Called the property managers about the issue at 9:30am the next morning. They were very kind, caring & attentive on the phone. Customer service person showed up at 4:59 that afternoon. Not an HVAC person. A customer service person. He was kind and caring and nice but he could only theorize about what the problem was and was not equipped to attempt to fix it. His parting words were "I hope it doesn't get hot again tonight." It was a very warm February so we opened doors / windows to cool the house off. Amazingly, doing so worked pretty well for the rest of our stay. We loved the property and felt very good about 95% of it. We would rate the property itself as very good. If we could be assured that future renters would not have the same HVAC issue we had, we would rate it even higher. Since future renters may make their decision based on our experience, we cannot. In summary - Beautiful home. Pretty well equipped. Kitchen needs more pots/pans/baking sheets/kitchen tools. Basement TV never worked. We couldn't even find the remote for it but it wasn't that big of a deal because we loved talking, hanging out & playing ping pong. Excellent gas grill. Comfortable furniture & beds. Well done bathrooms. Hard to figure out how to lock the doors but pretty easy once you see the small sticker on the edge of the door.

This was sort of adequate for our stay. The kitchen was woefully under-equipped. We could hardly get through 1 meal with the number of forks provided. The number of seats at the able does not match of number of people who could stay in the house and 1 person had to use a stool. There were dust bunnies. The cold water handle does not work in the upstairs bathroom. The only fry pan's non-stick coating was really warn and scratched (not healthy/safe). I am sure I am forgetting things. The fireplace works nicely!

Beautiful and easily accessible

The property was in a beautiful and serene location as well as easy to locate and access. It was well taken care of and the communication was seamless. The house was spacious and accommodated our party of 7 adults and 2 children very well. There were only a few lackluster items in the kitchen such as missing coffee filters, dull knives, etc. This made our morning a bit challenging since we decided to cook breakfast in the house and we had to go grab coffee on the road. I am sure some of this was an oversight and not something that would dissuade us from staying here again. Overall, our group enjoyed our stay here.

Great Rustic Cabin Getaway with Modern Conveniences!

This is a wonderful cabin with plenty of space and modern conveniences! The area is peaceful and quiet and you will enjoy the babbling brook below. The cabin has 3 separate deck areas and a recreational space downstairs. You are just 10 minutes from Banner Elk where you can find restaurants and shopping. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking to visit the Banner Elk/Sugar mountain area!

Very nice Cabin!

We love our stay in this place. Not far from many activities. After a day of sightseeing it is very relaxing to sit by the creek. The deck is very spacious but the only complain we have is that we didn’t get ehe change to enjoy it due to a horrible smell outside. That didn’t stop us from enjoying the house. The rest of the house was clean and comfortable. I will definitely recommend this place and will come back!

Quiet place

Great stay. Enjoyed quiet time with friends. The place is more quiet and isolated than you can see from the pictures. If you are looking for a place to unwund, this place does the trick. Two birds smashed into the huge beautiful window while we were there. Maybe a few stuck ons could be added to help them see it.

Great Place

Property was just as advertised. Only recommendation is to pack basic kitchen needs (storage bags, tin foil, bags, cleaning stuff just to use during stay). We did have to buy extra hand soap because all the containers in the bathroom were empty. And I did take a few pictures of the already made damages just to cover ourselves. Otherwise, the cabin were perfect. Plenty of pillows and blankets for all. They had a keurig and coffee pot which was great. WiFi was spotty but worked when needed. I would 10/10 stay here again!

Not as described

The description, pictures, & owners fees would have one to believe that the property, to include the grounds, are well maintained. However, it was not completely as described. That’s the expensive gamble you take when renting based on the description and 3 reviews. Checks & balances should be performed prior to a rental stay & after. The description would have you to believe the fire pit is close by on the actual property, not down the hill by the creek with no usable sitting available. There are 2 picnic tables that should have been discards a very long time ago. Unfortunately, I’m not able to upload images, otherwise I would. The creek was the most enjoyable aspect of renting this cabin though. Instructed to load & run the dishwasher before leaving. When cooking for 7, the dishwasher isn’t big enough to accommodate all of the items used. Also, there were dishes that were neatly put away that we had to rewash, because of residue from previous visits. Why the cleanup fee? The bedding on two beds weren’t clean and although management offered to bring new pillowcases, that’s were checks and balances comes into play. So why the cleanup fee? The Dish Satellite services didn’t work and would have been extremely helpful to the kids to watch and relax after eventful days. A nice maintenance personnel came out on the first night of our stay to attempt to fix the problem and was there more than 2 hours without success. A Dish tech had to come out the next day to move the satellite because of overgrown trees blocking the signal. The maintenance personnel offered to come back the next day so we wouldn’t have to wait around, but when I called him he was occupied with another job. So my family decided to stay until the Dish tech was finished. Again, ground maintenance and checks and balances. Why the admin fee? We were instructed to discard all garbage to the outside bin that is suppose to have an added locking mechanism to prevent animals from opening. After eating breakfast and preparing to “cleanup”, we collect all garbage to take outside only to find the added locking mechanism doesn’t work. Not sure how long the garbage that was in the outside bin had been there, but it was sprawled everywhere to include going up the mountain. Again, have pictures. We picked up all of the garbage, to prevent being accused. Why the admin fee? The cabin was ok, but not well built. You can hear everything regardless of the level.

It was exactly what it said it would be.

Only thing that could have been done to improve was blowing off the porches. Other than this it was a great place.

Cardinal's Nest Cabin

This is a great place to stay with extended family or friends. We stayed with another couple that had young kids. We had a blast. I highly recommend it.
