Very nice apartment in great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The boiler was a bit patchywith hot water kicking in and out but otherwise no issues at all

Excellent Location

This was a charming apartment in a fantastic location. Visitors should be aware that it is a top floor flat, with basic amenities. It has a couple of small grocery stores very close, and of course there are lots of restaurants around.

Location Location Location!

This flat was perfect for our family vacation and Hogmanay celebrations! The amenities are and furnishings are more functional than luxurious but our family of 7 was quite comfortable, especially for such an affordable rate. By the end of the week, we didn't even mind the stairs so much.

Lovely property

Lovely property in the heart of Edinburgh, owner sorted out travel cot for toddler up stairs as requested, communication great and would stay there again. A little extra touch that other property’s we’ve stayed at have is some family card games, board games, toys or books would go down well.

Superb location, wonderful flat

François is an exceptional host. He allowed us to check in early and he greeted us at the flat when we arrived. Staying in this early 19th century home with soaring ceilings and wonderful views of the city made our stay in Edinburgh very special. The location is great, with lots of nearby restaurants to choose from and easy access to old town. There is a Tesco less than one block away which has everything you need for your stay. The residential neighborhood is safe and quiet.

Perfect festival spot for 8

What a beauty! Spacious, comfortable, elegant apartment in glorious neighbourhood, a few minutes stroll from Princes Street and, in the other direction, the village atmosphere of Stockbridge. Cafes, bars, bakeries and supermarkets all within 5 mins walk. The kitchen is small, but there's a large dining table in huge lovely lounge. WiFi and TV worked well. Our teenage boys enjoyed their shared attic room. And all beds were comfortable. All in all, a great find!

Great stay in Edinburgh !

We had a very pleasant stay in this apartment located in a quiet aera of Edinburgh. The apartment is convenient for large numbers of persons as you can sleep till 8 ! Very high ceiling and nice chimneys in the lounge and rooms. You got 2 supermarkets close to the apartment and plenty of restaurants going on Dundas Street. The apartment is also fully furnished to do your own cooking. There is also a Bus stop just around the corner of the street to drive you to the main sites of the city. If you need any help, françois will be there to work things out. I will definetly recommand this apartment.

Loved this Place & Loved Scotland!

This rental exceeded my expectations. I thought the location was excellent. Close to all the tourist sites, but also, in a quieter neighborhood. It was comfortable with great windows and a lovely view from the kitchen. There are not many amenities beyond soap and a blow dryer, though the kitchen was stocked well enough for cooking. I was there a week and did not want to leave. Also, Francios is an attentive and very kind host. I had checked out and then our plane was delayed 12 hours and he let me & my friend back in to wait the day (and go to Sheep Heid Inn-recommended) until the flight left that night - whew! THANKS!

Family Appartment

potentially a great apartment: central,close to bus routes and essential shops,well appointed, ideal for a large family stay - everything going for it.BUT our stay was spoilt by too much going wrong: the hot water/heating system was not reliable and ultimately broke down completely.(Cold showers on the morning of a family wedding are not funny-) The communication with the street door (from the top floor - 50 stairs up) did not work - so when someone came we had to go down and up every time - several times a day. The inventory of kitchen equipment had not been done accurately. A bedside light did not work. All this suggests that the place had not been checked properly before our arrival. Very disappointing. And added to that, the owner had been very difficult to contact before our arrival: very few emails had been answered.

Excelente piso, muy bien conservado y equipado y buena situación

Piso muy amplio y bien mantenido. Apenas a 10 minutos de Princess Street. La zona es muy tranquila. Muy adecuado para un grupo de amigos o una familia amplia. Muy recomendable.

DISAPPOINTING

My family spent 6 days in this apartment as a base for exploring Edinburgh. We give it two stars basically because it is well situated, and the optional (90 pounds) secure garage for parking was welcome.It is however an apartment which I can only describe as suffering from a philosophy of absolute minimum investment and upkeep from its owner, and hence fell well short of our expectations as a welcome retreat after a long day's activities in Edinburgh. As owners of 3 rental apartments ourselves, we were quite shocked to find even basic things like napkins, tablemats & cloths, clothes pegs, etc were not provided. It was also rather scruffy, an impression starting from the entrance staircase and running throughout the apartment, with many windows that couldn't be opened to air the rooms, no lampshades on some roof lights, broken glass in the windows in the upstairs bedroom, and a general lack of any effort to lift the rather depressing tone inside with some form of decoration. The smallest bedroom was frankly a disgrace, with nowhere to store clothes and a sort of dilapidated mini mezzanine under a cracked ceiling used to store some old bed. The walk-in wardrobe in the main bedroom and the utility cupboard with the washing machine were little better. Overall, as a base for a group of youngsters only interested in somewhere to sleep and nothing else, its probably OK. If you're looking for a welcoming family base to enjoy and maybe cook an evening meal in after a hard day's slog round marvellous Edinburgh, as we were, look elsewhere. We would invite the owner to spend a week there with his family and see for himself how they rate it as a family base if he feels our comments are unfair.

Ottimo appartamento

Casa accogliente e piacevole da vivere, 8 comodi posti letto, quartiere tranquillo ma con negozi, pub e ristoranti, due bagni. Più bello di come appare in foto. Suggerirei di far trovare all'arrivo un benvenuto di latte, caffè, biscotti, olio e sale. Noi siamo state felici di trovare biscotti e latte richiesti da noi per l'arrivo in tarda serata. Francois è stato molto disponibile, con preziosi consigli sui ristoranti della zona.

Langes Wochenende in Edinburgh

Die Ferienwohnung war genau das, was wir gesucht hatten. Ausreichend Platz für 8 Personen, gemütliche Betten, großes Wohnzimmer und tolles Bad. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter lief hervorragend.

Lovely flat in a great location

A really generously sized flat in a fabulous part of town. Some of the fittings a little tired for the price, but overall very comfortable. Efficient heating, and particularly great mattresses for a really good night's sleep. Also an excellent shower. We would definitely stay here again.
