Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy
First and foremost, the Host never sent an email with Check In Details email or anything related. Although he said he sent it the day before! I'm flying in from the States to stay in Bathgate with my 81 yr mother, my and 2 kinds ages 18 and 13. Who sends check in information the day before????? I did find an address of the property on my check in page or confirmation page online, however, when we showed up at around 630pm, a couple answered and said that this was their house. I'm still working with Expedia to get a refund, but the Host said no refund. This was a harrowing start to our family trip Scotland. Luckily we were able to find a hotel for the night and we were safe. I then booked another VRBO and everything is fantastic! When booking in the future, contact the Host immediately to make sure everything is on the up and up. I'm not convinced that this entire stay was a Scam.
