I'm pretty sure either Travelocity and/or the Travelodge location did a bait n switch on the price I was quoted. I ended up paying about $250 more than when I booked. Stupid me I didn't prepay. Won't make that mistake again. Also should have taken a screenshot of the prices. Will make sure I do that next time also.
As for the room it was on a second floor walk up which was very difficult for my wife as she has COPD and found it very difficult to even do that. Also stupid me I should have requested a ground floor unit. Won't make that mistake again either.
I told the person on staff ( who was very nice - 'Princess') that we would stay the 1 night and then find another room elsewhere. So we got situated on the top floor and I went back to the lobby and was told they just had a cancellation and we could have a room on the ground floor on the river side of the motel. Less noise than the parking lot side.
Nice, then I tried to see how the TV worked and couldn't get it turned on so I tried to use the phone but there was no dial tone. So, off to the office I go again. Princess came to the room a few minutes later and showed us how to manually turn the TV on as the remote was not 100% functional. I could now change channels but could not mute commercials.
Day 2 had my shower and saw we only had 1 bath towel and 2 face cloths. Off to the office I went explained the towel situation & was given 1 extra towel. The Happy Belly restaurant next door has very good food, service & prices.
