We made a last minute trip and found This hotel! The property is beautiful - going through wonderful renovations! We chose a heritage room, which was beautifully redecorated. The staff was wonderful and kind. Internet was good. Comfortable bed.

The matress was well past its sell by date on one side. Apart from that the cooked breakfast's were not hot in fact the bacon was cold.. We will not be staying a second time!

I haven’t stayed at Owston hall for some time but I’m really glad I returned.It is so nice to stay in a traditional family run hotel.The beds the food and staff are all wonderful.The prices they charge to stay in these beautiful surroundings continue to amaze me …such value for money and I will definitely return

Room was clean - bed comfortable- bathroom was clean and tidy! Lovely towels! Could do with a couple of comfy chairs in the room - had to lie on the bed to watch Tv and definitely need a mirror in the main bedroom - had to dry my hair without a mirror and had to do my makeup in the bathroom - not ideal when sharing a room. We were in the bedrooms that seemed in the basement but weren’t in the basement. Also it was a bit nippy in the room . Overall a nice stay - the hotel was very impressive when driving up to it!

All round Gem of a Hotel

Wonderful stay - beautiful building and grounds and very helpful and pleasant staff who make you most welcome. Its wonderful that such a historical building is being saved for future generations to enjoy - local walks are lovely, and interesting to see the original buildings of the estate - ie Forge, Coach house, Farm, Barns etc still in use as delightfully renovated properties. If you play golf its an added bonus - golf course is amazing!!

Loved the room apart from not being able to turn off the towel heater in the bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't enjoy the food. Menu was very limited. The duck parfait starter was very bland and I doubt if the chef made it. The beef cheek was tasteless. Fruit at breakfast had absolutely no flavour although the Eggs Benedict was very good.

Overall, awesome stay.

Good location in the country with a golf course if you fancy some of that. Staff were amazing and it was a very clean hotel for its age. Nice little bar and the garden was nice too. Breakfast was great and good price too.

Lovely property, great food and fantastic room. However i was planning to work, the Wifi was appualing. I cant stay here again because i cant work with poor Wifi. I appricate its an old property but ive stayied in many hotels that are old and never had an issue. My colleague had the same issue. I reported it 6 months ago when i last stayied but there has been no improvement. If you dont need wifi then stay if you do then its questionable if you could.
