Riverfront Escape • Wood Fired Hot Tub + Private Bluff Views

Escape to a romantic hideaway overlooking the beautiful Big Piney River. Unwind in a private wood-fired hot tub, sway together in a riverside hammock, or cozy up around the fire beneath the stars. This charming bluff-top cabin features a covered porch, dreamy outdoor spaces, and stunning river views. Enjoy fishing, floating, and exploring the Ozarks right outside your door.

True glamping with a private outdoor shower and separate restroom. Hot tub and running water are seasonal; see details below.

THE EXPERIENCE

Tucked into the wooded bluffs above the Big Piney River, Ember Nook at Piney Bend Riverfront is a cozy, thoughtfully curated escape designed for slowing down, reconnecting, and enjoying the simple beauty of the Ozarks.

As the only guest cabin on seven secluded acres, Ember Nook offers something increasingly difficult to find: space, privacy, and the freedom to enjoy nature without sharing your retreat with other vacationers.

Wake to birdsong and morning mist rising from the river. Sip coffee on the covered porch, spend a lazy afternoon in the hammock overlooking the water, or explore the beautiful river just below.

As evening falls, the property transforms into a warm, inviting retreat. Twinkling lights illuminate the winding pathways, a crackling fire invites you to stay awhile, and during the warmer seasons, your private wood-fired hot tub awaits beneath the stars.

THE CABIN

Small in size, big on charm!

This cozy, one-room cabin blends rustic character with thoughtful comforts, including:

• Two queen beds (one upper bunk accessed by a ladder)
• Seasonal heating and air conditioning
• Small, stocked dry kitchen
• Gas cooktop, mini refrigerator, and freezer
• Comfortable couch and dining space for two
• Warm lighting, rustic wood finishes, and cozy bedding

The cabin is intentionally simple, encouraging guests to spend as much time enjoying the outdoors as possible.

YOUR PRIVATE OUTDOOR RETREAT

This is where Ember Nook truly shines!

• Seasonal wood-fired hot tub with built-in lounging deck
• Large covered porch with comfortable seating and river views
• Riverside hammock for two overlooking the Big Piney
• Fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs
• Custom convertible bench and dining table
• Winding stone pathways, landscaped gathering spaces, and ambient lighting
• Seasonal outdoor sink for washing dishes or cleaning fish

Spend the afternoon relaxing in the hammock, enjoy dinner beneath the trees, and end your evening soaking under the stars.

During the warmer seasons, your private wood-fired hot tub and firewood are included with your reservation. On hot summer days, the tub can also be enjoyed as a refreshing cold plunge.

THE BATHROOM + SHOWER

Ember Nook offers a true glamping experience, which means there is no indoor bathroom or running water inside the cabin.

During the warmer seasons, you'll enjoy:

• A private cedar outdoor shower house with hot water and beautiful river views
• A separate, clean outdoor restroom with a composting toilet
• An outdoor sink with running water

The outdoor shower is one of the property's most memorable features, especially when the surrounding woods and river are illuminated at night.

IMPORTANT: SEASONAL WATER AVAILABILITY

Once overnight temperatures begin dropping below freezing, the property's running water is shut off to protect the plumbing.

During this period:

• The outdoor shower will not be available.
• The outdoor sink will not have running water.
• The wood-fired hot tub will be closed and unavailable.
• The outdoor composting toilet will remain fully functional.
• A jug of fresh water will be provided for each reservation.

The cabin remains available for cozy, rustic winter getaways, complete with its heated interior, beautiful river views, and outdoor fire pit.

Water amenities reopen when temperatures allow, so exact opening and closing dates vary with the weather.

THE BIG PINEY RIVER

One of the best parts of staying at Piney Bend is having the beautiful Big Piney River right below your cabin.

Known for its clear, spring-fed water, scenic limestone bluffs, and excellent fishing, this stretch of river is perfect for slowing down or finding a little adventure.

Spend your days:

• Fishing along the river
• Exploring gravel bars and rocky shorelines
• Swimming and relaxing in the clear water
• Floating through the scenic Devil's Elbow area
• Watching wildlife and enjoying the peaceful Ozark scenery

FLOAT THE BIG PINEY

There's no better way to experience the beauty of the Ozarks than floating the clear waters of the Big Piney River!

Guests are welcome to use our tubes free of charge.

For those wanting a river adventure, we offer two scenic float options:

• 2-mile float — a shorter, relaxing trip through beautiful Devil's Elbow
• 6-mile float — an extended adventure through the beautiful bluffs and winding curves of the Big Piney, including Devil's Elbow, old Route 66 bridge and railroad trussle bridge

All river activities depend on weather, water levels, and safe river conditions.

LOCATION

Piney Bend feels tucked away in the Ozark wilderness, yet is conveniently located just minutes from Interstate 44 and historic Route 66.

Nearby conveniences and attractions include:

• Approximately 10 minutes to Fort Leonard Wood, Walmart, dining and shopping
• Approximately 5 minutes to gas stations and Dollar General
• Historic Route 66 attractions, Uranus roadside attraction and Devil's Elbow
• Local outfitters, scenic drives, and outdoor adventures

Here, you can spend the day exploring and return to your own peaceful riverside retreat.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF GETAWAY

Ember Nook isn't a luxury hotel or a traditional vacation rental. It's an intimate, nature-filled escape where the little moments become the best memories.

Slow mornings. River views. Crackling fires. Long conversations. And nowhere else you need to be.

# GUEST ACCESS

Guests enjoy private access to Ember Nook and its surrounding bluff-top outdoor spaces, including the covered porch, hammock lounge, fire pit, and dining area.

During the warmer seasons, guests also have access to their private wood-fired hot tub, outdoor shower, and sink. The separate outdoor composting toilet remains available year-round.

A natural pathway with stone steps leads downhill toward the road and Big Piney River access.

From there, guests can explore the river's rocky shoreline and a small gravel bar near the property. A larger gravel bar across the river is a popular place to swim, float, and relax.

The nearby bridge provides access to a short scenic float back toward Piney Bend, and a spring-fed waterfall can be found beneath the bridge.

A popular rope swing is located approximately half a mile in the opposite direction.

Please note that the cabin sits high on a bluff above the river. Reaching the water requires walking downhill along natural, uneven terrain and returning uphill. River access is not a paved or level walkway.

River activities are undertaken at guests' own risk. Water levels, currents, and access conditions can change with weather and rainfall.

# OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

We want every guest to arrive knowing exactly what to expect so they can relax and enjoy everything Piney Bend has to offer.

SEASONAL WATER AVAILABILITY

Ember Nook is a true glamping experience, and our outdoor water amenities are seasonal.

When overnight temperatures begin dropping below freezing, running water is shut off to protect the plumbing.

During this time:

• No outdoor shower
• No running water at the outdoor sink
• Wood-fired hot tub closed
• Composting toilet remains functional
• A jug of fresh water provided for each reservation

The cabin remains heated and available for rustic winter getaways. Water amenities reopen when weather conditions allow.

DRIVEWAY + PARKING

The cabin is accessed by a steep, narrow gravel driveway. A 4x4 or all-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended for driving all the way to the cabin.

Guests without a suitable vehicle may park at the bottom of the property and walk up the path approximately 100 yards uphill to the cabin.

NATURAL TERRAIN + WILDLIFE

Piney Bend is a natural bluff-top property with steep slopes, rocky paths, uneven ground, and drop-offs.

Guests should use caution when exploring, especially after dark or during wet weather. Children must be supervised at all times.

As with any nature stay in the Ozarks, you may encounter insects, spiders, and occasional wildlife.

The river is a natural waterway without lifeguards. Swimming, floating, and other river activities require appropriate precautions and awareness of changing water conditions.

PRIVACY + SURROUNDINGS

Ember Nook is the only guest accommodation on seven secluded acres overlooking the Big Piney River. With no neighboring rental cabins or other overnight guests sharing the property, you'll have the freedom to relax, explore, and enjoy your own peaceful Ozark hideaway.

The property features wooded bluffs, beautiful river frontage, winding pathways, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces exclusively for your stay.

Because the property is conveniently located near Interstate 44, faint road noise may occasionally be heard.

WOOD-FIRED HOT TUB

During the warmer seasons, enjoy your private two-person wood-fired hot tub overlooking the river. Firewood is included with your reservation.

Soak beneath the stars on cool evenings or enjoy the tub as a refreshing cold plunge during hot summer afternoons.

The hot tub is seasonal and closes when overnight freezing temperatures require us to shut off the property's running water.

A PLACE TO SLOW DOWN

Ember Nook is especially loved by couples looking for a romantic getaway, anniversary escape, or peaceful weekend surrounded by nature.

Everything here is designed to encourage you to unplug, reconnect, and enjoy the beauty of the Big Piney River.

We can't wait to welcome you to Piney Bend!
