We have stayed here 3 times now. It is a great value for a short stay near Exeter. It may look basic but the rooms are clean and tidy and a good breakfast too. Easy access to M5 and 10 mins drive into Exeter. Free parking.

The room was cramped. The mattress was very creaky just turning over, possibly needs replacing. Restaurant staff were excellent. Reception needs improving - sometimes no one on the desk. I found the woman quite brusque, not really welcoming. Possibly the exterior will need painting soon.

Clean and tidy, a couple of places need some attention but overall good. Mattress a bit soft, slept ok though nice and quiet. Breakfast options very good, cereal toast juices and full English with hot drinks. Unfortunately the full English came out Luke warm but the beans were cold and had to send back. Even though it was sent back the beans were hot but everything else was Luke warm. Didn't use the internet, location is easy to get to being just off the A38.

Motel style accommodation, rooms spacious, well equipped and clean. Restaurant also run to high standard by Manager Raj, great choice at breakfast plus evening meals with good menu choices and lounge bar available.

Small but very comfy and clean rooms Great shower with lots of pressure! No plugs by the bed is a bit of a pain. The hotel is really nice but let down by noisy guests. It seems to be used my loads of tradesmen during the week, the car park is full of vans. So about 6:30 it's non stop door slamming and van doors being shut. A nice hotel but maybe not for light sleepers or those wanting a lie in

Very good value for money, very easy from an information perspective. Reasonable menu and drinks with everything you could need onsite. Polite well mannered and helpful staff. My negatives or constructive feedback would be; More attention to detail regarding cleanliness, the small things that you would normally think "oh nobody will notice that" trust me when everything around an area is sparkling those little things standout like a sore thumb. Hot water, this may not be a negative for most but for me who requires a hot bath, I didn't get one. The water temperature (Rm 42) was tepid/slightly warm when turned to max, you should at least be be able to get to bearable hot when the temp is turned to max.

Good Rooms, Poor Management

My family stayed at the hotel as a last minute emergency , whilst having our house repaired. The room we had was great and clean. Plenty of towels provided. On the first evening our family ate in the restaurant, each having a different meal. For the adults this was our first meal of the day. I became unwell around 2 hours after eating at the hotel with suspected food poisoning, that continued throughout the night and next day. We avoided the restaurant until the last day where we gave our children some packaged items (cereals). Whilst they ate I spoke to the hotel manager (Beverley), who suggested that the meal I ate could not have made me unwell as others did not have a problem. I was not asked how I felt, and instead was asked if I had stayed previously (I’m still unsure of the relevance of this, but the answer was yes). It’s a real shame, as the staff in the restaurant are fantastic and the rooms themselves do the job. My advice though, avoid the lasagne. And don’t expect any interest in your health from the hotel manager if you do encounter an issue, even if it was likely inflicted by the hotel. It’s frustrating that I cannot score the management separately to the staff here, as the service staff are very friendly and were great with our children. The management approach and attitude is poor, and ultimately a situation that could have been dealt with through a little compassion and an apology for potential harm caused was instead met with defensiveness.
