Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were here for a one week vacation. We booked two rooms next door to each other which included this room. Although the pictures were decent, this unit was extremely outdated and could have used a lot of love. The area rug in the living room was dingy and not soft, couches were old, carpet in the bedrooms was very old and worn, etc. Everything was just old with the exception of the flooring in the living area, which made the whole unit feel kind of dirty. It did serve its purpose and the property overall was gorgeous so we made do.

Ice maker didn't work but we called the office and the maintenance man came and fixed it and it worked fine. Condo was clean. The condo could use a few upgrades like replacing cracked lamp shades and fix toilet paper holder in small bathroom but overall I would say this was a great condo!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was mostly good. Beautiful view. It has some updated features but it also has some very old features that could use some attention. The cabinets and drawers in the kitchen are very worn and somewhat dirty, the carpet in the bedrooms needs to go, some of the plugs do not work, the bedroom furniture and couches are also worn. The management at the Islander are very nice. I would stay there again. But I'll get insurance if it's hurricane season.

Location and overall property were great. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything needed was available. Loved the chair service we had with our unit. Will definitely stay at The Islander again. Only (very minor) issue was cooking pans. There were three pots (s, m, l) but no frying pan available in our unit.

great location

Everything was great but we never stayed at VRBO property that does not have minimum kitchen items, like salt and paper, sugar, coffee filters at least, not even sponge to wash dishes or dishwashing liquid. So make sure you bring it with you, or shop before you come. There are no walking places to get that, if you do not have a car, you have to uber. There are no places to eat walking distance, so same thing uber eats or uber to restaurants. I strongly recommend to get a car rental, way worth it. Uber was pretty busy and every trip was at least 30$ one way. The beach was amazing and the property location, very short walk to beach.

Excellent location.

I’ve stayed in Destin for over 20yrs but never in this location and I must say, I’ve been missing out. The location was great and the walk to the beach is much shorter than it looks in the pictures.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great view of the beach. Linens and blankets were clean. Enjoyed the amenities in the kitchen for cooking. Islander staff helped us out with some bandages and extra dishwasher soap. We brought our own toilet paper and paper towels and used 100% of our stock. Maintenance came once for a clogged sink drain and was quite prompt. The tracks in the shower sliding doors and the patio were absolutely filthy. I asked housekeeping to come clean the shower doors, which they did. I didn't bother with the patio. The drawers in the master bedroom were stained with what appeared to be markers, but they were wiped down by housekeeping when they came for the showers. We were there from Sunday to Sunday and utilized the laundry exchange on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It's a great service.

Reviewer Comments: We booked this rental in very short order and were pleased that we not only found a place, but found a place willing to rent to us for less than a full week which can be difficult to find. We wanted to stay for a full week, but our obligations at home wouldn't let us.The Islander itself was a very nice gated area. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The booking dates were all correct and they even allowed us to get into our unit a little early upon arrival. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean and the area around it well maintained and nicely decorated. Regarding our specific unit, it was just as advertised, photos accurately depicted the unit perfectly. Some of the reviews I'd read said that this unit was outdated, and to some people's standards I would agree. But it was oddly decorated the same as my parents house so it made sense to me. But the important thing to me was that it was very clean and everything was perfectly operational. I had no problems with this unit and I would highly recommend it. Being a tech guy, wifi is very important to me and this unit's wifi is completely acceptable in range and speed. That is not always the case in some places yet I never see it reviewed. So I thought I would review it just in case someone had a need to know.
