This fabulous home in Villages of Crystal Beach features a spacious open floor plan, coastal decor, a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table, and two gorgeous balconies. With newly updated flooring, fresh paint, and new decor, Serenity is a 6BR/4BA house that sleeps up to 15 guests. There is a King bedroom on the first floor, as well as a King Master suite on the 2nd floor with newly upgraded furniture! Additionally, there are two queen bedrooms, a bunk room, and a bedroom with two twin beds. This magnificent house also has a full-size laundry room with a washer/dryer, parking spots in the driveway, as well as additional overflow parking nearby. Villages of Crystal Beach is an exclusive, gated community only a few blocks from the beautiful blue waters and white sandy beaches of Destin. You can make the walk on foot or hop on the free seasonal trolley service (Memorial Day through Labor Day): they will even pick you up at the house and drop you off right at the beach! The pool area at Villages of Crystal Beach is a vacation must! The lagoon style zero entry pool is 30,000 square feet of gorgeous, sparkling clear water. There is a spa, tropical landscaping, and plenty of seating areas. It also has surround sound, a flat screen TV, and a grilling area to help you relax and unwind.

Please note that there are parking restrictions within the Villages of Crystal Beach. There are two parking spaces available in the driveway of the home. Trailers, RV's, boats, golf carts, and motorcycles are not allowed within the community gates; alternate parking arrangements will need to be made for these items. 

Area Attractions: 

There are wonderful shops and restaurants close by and great attractions such as golf courses, Big Kahuna's Water and Adventure Park, boating, fishing, and water-sports!

Close by is Destin Commons, a beautifully landscaped, pedestrian-friendly area and a great family venue where children will love to play in the interactive water fountains. Also, for the younger guests, a nautically/pirate themed outdoor playground features a 1,750 square foot soft play area with various creatures from the sea, slides, and a treasure chest!  Destin Commons also has a mini-train for the kids. Destin Commons features over 75 shops and restaurants, including Godiva Chocolates, AMC Movie Theaters and Bass Pro Shop. 

If you are near Miramar Beach, the snorkelers in your group will love the new artificial reef called Dolphin Reef, deployed in 2017.  Located just 685 feet straight out from the Miramar Regional Public Beach access (by Pompano Joe's), it is becoming a haven for sea life. Each of the 4 snorkeling reefs comprises 40 acres of permitted sea bottom. The Dolphin Reef is at a depth of 12-20 feet. We strongly recommend that snorkelers use a kayak, paddleboard, or other flotation device when visiting the snorkel reefs. Sea conditions can and do change quickly and often. Enjoy!

Thank you so much Realjoy Vacations my family and I really enjoyed our stay with you guys. The beach was a 3 minute drive, the community pool was a 2 minute walk, and right off the main strip. Very much a convenient stay! I will be renting and staying at the same property again.

Great time with Family

Our first thought was this property was far from the beach, but turns out the walk was not too bad. The stay was satisfactory and the location was great. Close to the SunPass exit/enter, and close to showing centers. The parking is a little tricky on the first day but after that it wasn't to bad. Would stay again.

Overall decent place

The parking details states 3 cars plus 1 additional and the house only has parking comfortable for 2 cars. No oven mitts in the kitchen which was odd. Inconsistent warm water in showers. Overall the place was as described with small issues. Nice, kid friendly neighborhood with short walk to beach. Nice pool.

Undesirable Home

This property has much to be desired. The property was run down—it needs some major updating. The carpet in all the bedrooms was disgusting—multiple stains throughout. The living room furniture was also very run down, the couch was used and in poor condition along with much of the decorations and furniture. The dishwasher was out of order our entire stay so w had to wash all the dishes by hand for 15 people throughout the week. The house was surface level clean but needs a deep clean and revamp.

Great Property

The property was great. There were a couple adjustments that need to be done. 2 bar stools were wobbly and need to be replaced, not sure if that has ever been an issue before. The kitchen sink would not shut off properly, maintenance man did come out, but had to get approval from owner first to replace. The dryer did not work properly, so we could only wash a couple loads of laundry. I would recommend to the future guests, make sure you only have 3 cars. The overflow parking isn't the best and it's a pain to get a spot if you can't find one the first day. 3 cars will fit in the driveway, but it is a little tight. Other than the couple minor issues every thing else was great, only about 3 blocks to the Beach and great pool for the family and kids.

The property, rental process, and stay were great. The shuttle van was nice with the exception of one driver who was grumpy. Called for the shuttle one morning near the end of a rain shower. The driver refused to pick us up and take us to the beach. Said most people don’t go to the beach in the rain so he didn’t work when raining. Also had a lady staff member at the pool who acted like a dictator. Witnessed an instance where a father was picking up his daughter out of the water while in the middle of the pool. The staff member came up and loudly blew her whistle and told him no horse play is allowed in the pool. Instead of politely getting the man’s attention she blew the whistle loudly. After that another father asked what was considered horse play. The staff member got rude with the man and never did answer his question.

Destin was a great location for a family trip!! The beach was beautiful but the area the shuttle drops you off at is very small so you have to get there early to set up unless you want to be packed in like sardines. The other alternative is walking half a mile either way with all your gear due to the roped off areas that belong to hotel guests. The house was nice but it is 3 stories. One of the queen beds upstairs was broken the entire time and we kept having to fix it. The king bed on the 2nd floor and the queen bed with the pullout chair on the top were comfortable, other than that all the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The king bedroom on the main floor was very hot the entire week. We had a box fan that we used trying to circulate air.The ac unit upstairs quit working (management was very responsive getting someone out to take a look and fix the issue which was great). The fridge had an ice maker that would not make ice regularly so we had to buy multiple bags of ice. The propane grill did not work correctly so we had to go buy a small charcoal grill quickly to finish grilling (midway through cooking). The pool was nice. Make sure you keep up with the wristbands. Apparently they charge you 50 if you lose one. The beach is not steps away, it is a 10 minute walk which is fine and they have the shuttle running from 10-4:15 for pick up and drop off which was nice. Overall decent stay but house could be cleaner.

Worst Rental

I have stayed at a lot of different places over the years at the beach and this was the worst one I have encountered. The gated community is not gated other than a guard rail that came down in front of your car and it was broken and not functioning most of our stay. The rental was not clean and very run down. We could not even use the twin bedroom because one bed was broken and you would roll off it while trying to sleep. The beds were not comfortable at all. The 2nd floor toilet handle would get stuck and run if you didn’t jiggle the handle. The kitchen cabinets were in rough condition with the coating peeling off them. The blinds on the windows were broken and with a broken bar stool that was too dangerous to sit in and needs thrown away. The coffee pot was a cheap $10 unit. We cooked in the room one night and found dirty cookware that we had to wash before use and not very many to choose from. Not well equipped in the kitchen area at all. The property grounds had trash all in the yard and along the road going into village. When we contacted the property manager about the bed they came out but worked on the bunk beds instead of the twin bed which is not what I told them when they called. Called them back the next day but never heard from them again the rest of weekend. Very ooor service!!

Unhappy with property. Would not book again

The door code was given to me at 4pm. We were hanging nearby at Lulu's so we loaded everyone up and headed to the house. Upon arrival we found the house had not been cleaned and was degusting from the previous renters, even though Real Joy had sent me the door code. After several calls to the property management "Real Joy" the cleaning crew shoed up and told us it would be 2 to 3 hours before the house would be ready. I called Real Joy and told them this was unacceptable and they sent a 2nd cleaning crew and offered me a $150 restaurant voucher. The cleaning crew finished in 1-1/2 hours and we started moving in the house but the house was not 100% clean. My wife finished touching up the house where the maids did not clean good. I had to call the Real Joy number everyday to get my Vouchers and everyday I was promised a manager would contact me but I never heard from anyone. On the last night I was going to be in town and young man showed up at 5:30pm and handed me 2 gift cards totaling $150. The house needs maintenance very bad. The carpets in the bedrooms is stained and extremely dirty. The couch is dirty and wore out. There are barely any pots in the kitchen for cooking, so if you have a large family I suggest you bring your own. The landscaping outside has not be trimmed in some time and is overgrown. Parking is an issue and if you park in the street to unload your car the parking police will come around while you are unloading and tell you to move. We barely got 3 cars in the driveway and had to park the others about 2 miles away at the Shopping Center because the overflow is constantly full. The photos online make this house look way larger than it is

House was nice but neighborhood was uninviting

The rental house was nice; it could use some updates/repairs (bar stool chairs are very unsafe/loose; carpets are stained; kitchen is far less stocked with cooking tools than others we have rented) but it was a good size and the set up was great for large extended family. The neighborhood was horrible. We had 5 cars as each family came from different states/cities. We were able to fit all 5 cars in the driveway without any cars hanging off into the street. Neighborhood patrol came immediately and made us move or they would call and have us towed. Limit of 3 cars in the driveway. We were told to move to overflow (there are 15 spaces total in overflow which never are open due to the 3 car limit) or move offsite to a retail location. Specifically told to go to Whole Foods to park. Both cars received tickets for parking overnight. You can't have large houses that will fit multiple families and expect to each house to only bring 3 cars. There is an empty lot next to the neighborhood. Neighborhood should buy that lot and pave it for overflow parking.

Mom's and daughter's trip

The house was beautiful, the location was a little difficult. There was no beach just public access where you can't have your own umbrella and tiny. The pool within the community was nice and everything was well maintained. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, with a house that sleeps up to this many and when booking and stating a large group, more products like toilet paper and dishwasher tabs should be privided. The grill was great and even had gas to cook with.

We enjoyed our stay at Serenity, located at Villages at Crystal Beach. Real Joy Rental was very easy to communicate with and they made the check in and check out process easy. While we enjoyed our stay, I would like to write this review to give all the information necessary for others to make an informed decision. The walk to the beach is long. If you have young children, be aware that it is quite a distance. Also, this community does not allow golf carts, scooters, motorcycles, boats, or jet skis. Please be aware of this before you book a home in this community. Parking is also scarce. The property is listed to have parking for 3 cars on the site, however, it was very tight to park 3 cars. Overflow parking was rarely available. There is no street parking allowed at all. Also, the dishwasher in this home was out of order. We were not made aware of this prior to check in. When we arrived, there was an out of order sign attached. When I called, they informed me that there would not be a new one installed during our stay. It was inconvenient doing dishes for a party of 14 people for 6 nights, but we made the best of it. While the walk to the beach was long, the walk to the pool was easy. It was only about a street over. The pool area was very lovely, and the water is heated. It was Spring Break, so it was crowded, but that’s expected. The beds were very comfortable, and the house stayed nice and cool. All of the TVs worked, equipped with cable. There were plenty of linens and towels, but bring your own beach towels and beach equipment. There were several board games and books to enjoy. The property management company was quick to answer the service calls pertaining to malfunctioning smoke detectors. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I would recommend using Real Joy Property Management. While I would not stay at this house again, due to the far proximity from the beach, I would rent from this company again. Thank you for the pleasurable stay at Serenity.

Condo was looked just as advertised

When we arrived the condo was clean, the bedrooms were comfortable and there were plenty of towels.
