The hotel packed up our stuff a day early.

Pros: Reasonable prices for the hotel and restaurant.
Cons: I understand they made a mistake but I thought they should have comped us the room for all the trouble they put us through.
Location: The hotel is isolated but they appear to have things to do there. Like everywhere we went, the clouds kept us from seeing Denali from the hotel.
Hotels near Denali were hard to find. We booked this thinking it would be a nice hotel at a reasonable cost. It is a couple hours from Denali National Park. It is a huge place with 20+ buildings. They have a lot of stuff going on at the hotel but were really just used it as a base camp for day trips to Denali. The restaurants were ok and not as expensive as I thought they might be. My only real complaint is they checked us out a day early. We had just ordered dinner and drinks at the Lynx Pizza place in Healy following the 8 hour shuttle trip out to Eielson and back. I turned my phone on and received a voicemail from the hotel asking me to make arrangements to pick up our luggage. It was 10pm and I had no idea what they were talking about. I called the hotel. The person was very nice but explained that our reservation had ended earlier that day. and they "packed up" our things. We got back to the hotel around 1am and found all of our stuff thrown into our suit cases. We were able to confirm we had our passports, wallets, jewelry, medicine but we continued to have to search for things through the next morning. We still haven't found a few inexpensive things. It was VERY FRUSTRATING!!! The next morning, they determined someone in the Princess home office made a mistake and offered us a breakfast voucher. The voucher was no where close to the trouble they put us through.

Disappointment in Hotel Staff, Beautiful view!

The hotel staff was very unfriendly, I did not hear one staffer say thank you, even when I paid my bill. I had booked through online travel website and they charged me more than the rate I prepaid at online travel website. I had booked 3 adults, 2 children, they charged me for 3 adults and appear to add additional fees for providing an extra cot that was suppose to be in our room when we arrived. We arrived late in the evening and assumed our room would be set up to sleep in and take showers. There was no 5th bed (cot) in the room and we had to contact the front desk 2 times in one hour and flag down a young man from housekeeping to provide a cot?? There were only 4 towels, washcloths and hand towels, our 5th person was not accomodated for even though we paid extra for the 5th person. \nThe hotel was beautiful, the customer service provided by the hotel staff was bad. \nWe were definitely disappointed with treatment by the staff - lack of courtesy, service provision and frienliness. \nWe would not reccomend this hotel for hospitality, but the view of Mt. McKinkley was outstanding! \nWe were very suprised that a Princess Hotel, which rates are quite high would not spend more to train their staff to be customer service friendly.

Pretty hotel, but

Rooms were nice but we were located in a room where the toilet leaked. Maintenance said they would fix while we were out and it was never repaired. Also, remote controls for the television didn't work. Maintenance left with the remote and never came back with one that worked.

Wonderful stay

Our extended family of six really enjoyed our stay. The great room and deck in the lodge were the best parts. We spent our days hiking, flightseeing and visiting Talkeetna. In the evenings we played cards in the lodge. Internet connections and cell phone coverage were great also. Loved the coffee bar in the morning.
