This was an absolutely a gorgeous place to stay. All facilities are new and in great condition. Secluded and restful. We found it to be just right from activities and shopping. We would really like to consider for a summer stay. The creek and outdoors would be would be great for a family. Pet friendly was a plus for us too. I highly recommend this house!!!!! We had no issues.

Cabin was private. Located on a beautiful lot. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. My biggest concern was the sharp curves on the winding road getting to and from the the cabin to and from 421. I was not accustomed to driving on this type of mountain roads. As a result, I learned how to use manual drive and paddles on my Subaru Outback.

It was very quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and working. Home is well appointed with nice furnishings. The stream is easy to access and gorgeous. Our dog also loved the property which had lots of space for chasing a ball. It was perfect for a weekend getaway!

So relaxing! We loved this cabin. It was clean and comfortable and perfect for a long weekend. My husband and I and our two dogs had a fabulous time. We roamed the vast yard and played in the creek. The road to get there is a bit twisty but was still close for us to visit our son at App State. The bed was comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. This would be a great place for adults to relax or families with kids to play. It was perfect for our dogs. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a great stay. Creek was wonderful and peaceful sounding. Our kids had fun with the hot tub. Would love to come again!! Plenty of parking and a lot of place around the house. Everything was great! We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you soooo much!

Nice cabin with comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. My lab loved the stream behind the house. The fireplace went on the first time but not on my next tries. This location is very remote and even though the mileage to Boone is minimal it is a very slow and twisty road. It took about 20 minutes to get to the main road. We did not use the hot tub.

Hidden gem perfect for a weekend getaway

The cabin had everything we needed to cook meals and relax by the creek for the long holiday weekend. Very clean and kitchen well equipped. We didn’t leave the property except for long walk and our dog loved floating with us in the river followed by hot tub soaks for the humans. Thanks for sharing this beautiful piece of property with us.

A Peace of Heaven

The host and the property completely exceeded all expectations. This property is absolutely amazing. It is secluded enough to enjoy privacy by the creek and just a short drive to the attractions in the area if you would like to see the sights. A perfect location. I highly recommend staying on this property. The host will make sure you go home with nothing but pleasant memories. He was awesome! We will definitely be coming back.

Nice private getaway

Love staying at this cabin. This makes our 3rd yr staying here. Perfect size and level of privacy. Glad to see it survived the flood. Not as much fish as usual post flooding. Hoping the hatcheries will get the trout population back up next year. Still a great stay. Plenty of supplies in kitchen and bath. Lovely view from from front and back deck. First time seeing a bear here. So that was an extra special treat.

Mountain cabin

We stayed in this cabin for a week and two other families we know stayed in the other two which worked out very nicely. The cabin was very nicely decorated in a cabin theme and very clean. The bed was comfy, the kitchen well stocked. It was dog friendly with pet bowls on hand. We enjoyed the large hot tub every night. There was a note when we arrived that the dishwasher was broken and that a repair request was put in but no one ever came which was inconvenient. The wifi is weak - don't plan on doing work or streaming here. This is a great place to get away from it all as it is in the middle of nowhere. Stock up on groceries before you come because it takes a good 30-40 minutes on curvy, narrow roads to get to a grocery store or restaurant. I wouldn't drive those roads after dark, that's for sure. Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would do it again.

We had a great visit. The cabin was exactly how it was described. The cabin was very clean. The dishwasher was broke when we went but we were told it was on order. This did not affect our stay or bother us to wash the little dishes we have.

Great cabin and stream, but ...

After a few VRBO hiccups, check in was easy. The cabin is nice, clean, and comfortable. Lots of towels and extra sheets. The dishwasher did not work. We were unable to use the TV. The wifi is OK. The door to the storage space would not lock and banged in the wind, requiring a rock to prop it closed. There is no cell service but there is a landline.Information on how to get there should have been in the listing. Recommend asking owner to provide detailed directions both to the cabin and to Boone if he does not post them after our recommendation. The VRBO estimates on how long it takes to drive to places are inaccurate. There are no restaurants within a walking distance. Boone is about 25/30 /- 5 minutes away. Blowing Rock an additional 25 minutes. The first mile as you leave is a heavily rutted gravel road. The paved is narrow, with hilly and hair-raising sharp switchbacks and no shoulders.There was not much to do here. Contractors were loudly dredging the stream with heavy equipment for the first few days, so fishing and tubing were out of the question. Owner said they did not tell him when they were arriving. Since he knew that they would be coming at some point, it would have been nice to forewarn us, give us the option of whether to come and even offer some compensation for the noise.We enjoyed the stream after workers left for the day. If you plan to “stay put” for the most part you will be fine. But if you want more, it will require some driving. Hope this helps.
