The room was quite comfortable and very clean; nice king bed and very large bathroom. I had to pay extra for a different room because the initial room was by the stairwell and all noises penetrated the room. Didn't like having to pay for that inconvenience. The think the hotel should have accommodated at no extra cost!! It's a very small resort; the grounds are pretty and well kept; the relaxing spaces throughout, including my favorite hammock on the pier are very nice. The pool is very small; could use a redesign. I don't think the property qualifies as a resort; maybe just a nice hotel. There weren't any activities to entertain quests. The staff claims there are activities during open season; but, if you have paying quests throughout the year, I feel you must accommodate all of them. I usually stay at large resorts that have beach volleyball, water aerobics, exercise classes, dancing, and a host of activities. That is important especially since the hotel is off the beaten path. I actually liked the location, but I think the shuttle should begin earlier and run at least until 8 p.m. (It seems as though these hours are designed to encourage guests to eat at the restaurant on property.) The front desk staff is a big plus; the entire team is courteous and professional. Overall, I liked the hotel.

We liked the location of this property, although a little harder to reach it was more private than hotels on Seven Mile Beach. The property was very well kept. We LOVED the weather on this side of the island, even when the temperatures were 84 degrees there was still a lovely ocean breeze (not true of most other places we went on the island). We had booked a queen room and when we arrived we found we had been upgraded to a suite, how nice! There was a full kitchen, which we made use of every morning for breakfast, and even a washer & dryer (the dryer was very loud so we only used it a few times) The downside of the suite is that the "view" out our suite was of the construction site next to the property, but we kept the sheer curtain closed the whole time & did not sit out on the patio as there was no point, instead we went by the pool or down to the oceanside dock. The beach on this side of the island is pebbly, the kids can't play here. This isn't a large hotel property but for the size and price, we were very pleased. The staff was courteous and unobtrusive. We did have some issues with our keys, they had to be reprogrammed every day. There are not many amenities on the property but we had planned ahead and rented a car. If you're looking for a place where everything is near your doorstep, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you're looking for a clean property, more privacy, and excellent value I highly recommend Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman.

Hotel was under construction, but didn’t bother me . Renovation was moving at very fast pace. I would recommend and will stay again .

We had a great experience at this hotel on our recent stay. Although not located on the beach, we rented a car so it ended up being a 5 minute drive. No big deal. If you wanted to walk and/or didn't haven't access to a car it's maybe a 10-15 minute walk. There's also shuttle service at the Holiday Inn and they go around the island to different places all day. They seemed very willing to accommodate so I'm sure they would bring you to the beach. The hotel also gave us beach chairs and an umbrella to use for the week which was incredibly helpful as there are no 'cabana boys' on the public beaches to rent chairs from. Our room was clean and spacious (one bedroom, ground level) and housekeeping was really on the ball. We had clean towels and a made up bed every day- which is especially important when you're at the beach and coming home sandy! They even did our dishes and swept the patio a few days. Truthfully we found grand cayman in general to be over commercialized and more like Florida than an island. However, if you're intent on going there and want a reasonably priced hotel room, I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn.

Very Clean

Pros: Cleanliness, staff, the pool, my view from the balcony.
Cons: Better insulation on connecting doors. Free ear plugs!
Location: There is only a golf course nearby. If you stay here, it is best to have a rent car. I kind of liked being away from the crowded city.
I gave a high rating because my room was very clean (even after bringing sand back from the ocean), every time I saw an employee they greeted me, and it was a good price. The only problem I had and my family in another room had was hearing our neighbors. There is no carpet and the rooms have connecting doors:(. My neighbors usually stayed up past midnight and were loud. I really enjoyed it and would stay here again, but I would have earplugs next time!
