We welcome you to Frenchy's Forest Lodge. If you're looking for a quiet, secluded, and relaxing getaway- look no further.

We are honored to open our home to you and are confident you will love it just as much as we do. We have put a lot of thought and effort into our cabin ensuring it will be the perfect destination. Our property is uniquely private surrounded by woods perfect for bird watching, sightseeing, stargazing under a bonfire, turkey hunting, and more! A true 'Cabin in the Woods' experience, but you'll do anything but "rough it" here with our pristinely clean home, including all of the modern amenities.

Our Lodge is big enough to sleep 11 yet cozy enough to be enjoyed by 2. We have taken special measures to provide adequate space for everyone with large closets, spacious bedrooms, a large, finished basement, dining for everybody, and a beautiful open concept layout that allows everyone to feel at ease. Our spacious kitchen is fully stocked with items ranging from a pizza cutter to a crockpot, and everything in between; it's100% ready for family gatherings.

Frenchy's Forest Lodge is located 10 minutes from Downtown Escanaba, 3 minutes from the Rusty Rail Bar & Grill, 50 miles from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, day trips to endless waterfalls, minutes from kayaking, hiking, ATV/Snowmobile trails, and more.

This is truly a place to enjoy all four seasons.

We had such a wonderful time at this cabins. The cabin was clean and had everything that we needed. The owners were kind and super helpful. The cabin was in a secluded area so we could walk around and enjoy the fall colors with no worries of neighbors. I would recommend bringing your own water to drink if you are not comfortable drinking from a well.

We had an absolutely incredible time here during the lead up to our wedding in September 2025. There was plenty of space for family that was staying with us, and the cabin was a perfect place to destress and connect with everyone before the big day. So many treasured memories.

Wonderful place! Everything was exactly as described. The cabin was perfect for 5 teenage girls and two adults. We had a good balance of “chilling out” and taking in the UP. There was plenty of space for the girls to spread out. The location was perfect - just over an hour to Pictured Rocks and less than 20 minutes to the beaches in Gladstone and Escanaba. Communicating with the host was easy and mostly unnecessary. We had one issue with a wasp nest that was addressed very quickly. Detailed directions provided were perfect (especially because the trek back to the cabin is a little different). If we find ourselves in the Escanaba area again, we would definitely consider staying here.

Wonderful winter weekend

Our second time visiting this cabin left us just as impressed as the first. There was plenty of room for our families of 4 and 5, with our pooch. Kids and adults alike greatly enjoyed playing outside in the woods.

Family Birthday Celebration

Everything about this cabin, location, prompt response by Mary to all my questions before arrival, firewood, wildlife (deer, family of turkeys, birds, etc.), appliances, washer & dryer all highly appreciated and used! Location is close to my brother’s camp making it convenient to go back and forth. And, two evenings we had family visit for dinner and outdoor fire (they even brought firewood one evening that we used and one evening used firewood provided at cabin. There were 6 of us staying at cabin, plenty of room for all. Best compliment was when our sons left with their gals, they said “this place was awesome Mom” !!!

We loved staying in the cabin! It was rustic and beautifully furnished and decorated. The quiet and scenic property was a pleasure to wake up to. It was about 15 minutes to Escanaba or Gladstone. There were 3 TVs, and had good Wi-Fi. We saw turkeys, deer, 4 different squirrels, and a bear from a distance. I highly recommend this cabin!

A perfect cabin

My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights into the weekend. The house was pristine when we arrived...it almost looked brand new. As other reviews have stated, if you follow the directions to get there it isn't a problem. Dave and Marry were more than happy to answer any questions I had about finding the home as well. If you're looking for a cabin 15-20 minutes out of town away from the city I don't think it's possible to beat this place. Beds, the yard, the woods...everything down to the silverware were perfect when we arrived. The pictures don't do it justice. I would highly recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Excellent property with plenty of room inside and outside. We had a full itinerary planned of golfing, sightseeing, casino trips, and dinners. We opted to stay in afternoons for yard games, bonfires and take advantage of the spacious, well-maintained lawn. Deer and several wild turkeys visited us during the weekend. This is my 2nd visit as a guest at the property, we are already planning another in fall. This place checks all the boxes for space, comfort, amenities, & it’s SO CLEAN. GREAT HOSTS.

Up North Cabin with all Amenities!

Booked for a friends and family weekend! 4 adults and 5 kiddos under 5 yrs old. The cabin is spacious for large groups with great hiking in the area. We loved the bonfire set up and how relaxing the living room was. Bummed that mother nature didn't have snow in February but I'd imagine that this place would be GREAT for snow adventures and hunting!

Hunting getaway

Dave and Mary are the best people to work with to make your vacation special!!!! The cabin is beyond beautiful and is set up extremely well for what ever you want to do. The location is perfect to enjoy the wilderness and only being 15 min. From town is a huge bonus. There is a ton of wildlife to watch which is why we came back again and will return next year! Amazing and Secluded

It was just what we were looking for! We came to see the sights and fall colors and the best colors were actually at the cabin. We enjoyed time there and were able to keep all three kids as well as the adults entertained on the day we had starting late due to rain. The cabin was the cleanest place that we have rented. Dave and Mary were very responsive and on top of everything!
