For an inexpensive hotel the Chelsea is to be cheerfully recommended. Rooms were comfortable and clean if a bit barren. I liked that I could control the heat in each of the rooms. There's no lobby to meet friends but there is a cafe on street level that seems to be part of the hotel and is very handy. They serve delicious food and are very friendly as are is the hotel staff. A good deal all around.

Single room - cheap but shared bathroom

Booked a single room. Very small with single bed. Didn't realise when i booked but it had a shared bathroom. There was only one bathroom containing both shower and toilet so at one point i couldn't use the toilet as i had to wait for someone to stop showering. Not ideal.

Great location and staff but could be noisy!

The parking was offsite and a 5 minute walk away. It caused some confusion as to how to access it. There was a party at the hotel restaurant on the Saturday night which went on till 2am although the reception said it would end at 1am when I asked just after midnight. I spoke to the manager in the morning and they were apologetic and arrange for a free breakfast. Staff were friendly and understanding. Really enjoyed the stay, however, the sound of the party and construction in the morning meant I didn’t get much sleep.

a gem of a place

wonderful small hotel. rooms are very clean and comfortable. the staff is always friendly and helpful. the attached restaurant is delicious and the location is great! there is even an outside patio for smokers
