Nice facility but service was not good

Pros: Location and indoor pool.
Cons: More staff in restaurant and improve maid service
Upon arrival discovered that the hotel was now a Premier Best Western. Check in was excellent. Rooms good. There is a taproom/restaurant where we ate. It was busy, but only 2 wait staff with quite a few customers. Wait time of food not bad after orders taken, which took quite a while. Waitress not pleasant. Next morning breakfast buffet was okay but not all foods replaced timely. Left hotel for day and returned to find room had not been made up. When inquired at front desk was told that maid service had reported room clean and by that time maid service had left for day. Pool close - separated by wall- from lobby. Very noisy.

My overall experience was nice. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating. My only disappointment was with the restaurant in the hotel. It took 45 minutes (no exaggeration) for my main course (burger and fries) to be delivered and 20 minutes for my appetizers. I actually could not wait any longer due to time constraints . I only ordered a fruit salad , portabellla fries and the burger. Even though the waitress was nice this took way more time than it should have in my opinion . There was only two tables occupied at the time .

Improved!

The last time I stayed here I found the front desk crew OK. Not so friendly. This time I found them much warmer. Again the maids and servers were very helpful and friendly. Only thing I was curious about was why, when I prepaid for the room and breakfast, I was only given a breakfast for one morning. Should have brought this to the attention of staff but I didn't. Bedding and room very comfortable and room very clean. Overall happy

Could of been slightly more friendly

Pros: The maids were very friendly and helpful as were the waitresses and chef. Room and bedding were very comfortable and clean
Cons: Friendliness of front desk staff
Location: Robert Wadlow statue, Alton Museum of History, Downtown Alton, Eagle watching, antiquing, Underground railroad tour,
Checked in without incident. Both women who helped me check in were friendly enough. Restaurant could use some work with the menu. A little bit of an overreach in items. overpriced. Maid service was excellent and room was very clean. Breakfast was good and chef was friendly as were the waitresses. Was disappointed on check out when the desk person was in a back room. Had to call her attention to the fact I needed assistance and not a "Thank you for staying with us, or How was your stay, or even, Hope to see you in the future." Seemed strange since there are other choices that are equal in the area. Oh well, I'm already booked with them for later in this week. See if they are any more interested in my return custom then.

Pros: Hot tub the indoor pool is not heated
Cons: cleanliness of the bathroom out dated tile and grout
Location: nothing near hotel
Traveled for work. The staff was friendly quiet hotel.

Love the Atrium

I always enjoy returning to the Atrium. The hotel is presently renovating the third and fourth floors. I can't wait to see the results! This hotel has all the amenities I enjoy: incredible breakfast, little fitness center, and hot tub.
