Mother's Day Trip
We had a wonderful stay at this home and it was set up well for children. We had three with us with ages between 1 1/2-5. Our only compliant would be that the house could use a deep clean as it was pretty dusty. There were also ant traps set out in areas that the children could reach.

Very disappointing
The deck area was filthy, the weather was beautiful, and we wanted to enjoy the view from the deck. The table was filthy, the deck had dirt and bird poop everywhere, didn't look like the deck had been cleaned in a very long time. There was not mention for the number of stairs to climb to the front door. We are all in our late 60's, so this was an issue. The overall cleaniness was not good.

Island Project Needs
We needed accommodations close to a project site as hotels arent really an option on the south end of Whidbey. Host and Home were amazing and host was very responsive and helpful with a wifi issue (that was resolved). 10/10 would book again!

Modern finishes, restful view, plenty of room. We'll be back!
We were a group of 5 (parents, grandparent, two kids), getting away for a break and change of view. In a residential neighborhood, the home is only a 20-minute tree- lined drive from the Clinton ferry. The house is comfortable, updated, and, aside from a minor issue of dead batteries in the fireplace remote receiver (quickly addressed by Vacasa), everything worked smoothly. The living room view of the trees and the bay across the meadow is restful and lovely, with views of the bluff and the mountains on a clear day. We greatly appreciated the electric kettle for near-constant tea. The Goose Grocery is a five-minute drive away, with a great selection of items. We chatted with the locals to get ideas for outings and restaurants, and brought home snacks, tea, and breakfast makings. Our beds were super comfy, and the soaking tub was great after days walking the state parks, beach, and the town. Listening to the Great Horned owls hoot while putting the kids to bed was kind of magical. The downstairs third bedroom area is pretty much a MIL apartment, so there's lots of room to go for quiet if the kids get rowdy on a rainy day. On sunny days, we enjoyed trail walking, beaches, and strolling through towns and shops. On our outings, we saw deer, rabbits, and hawks. In rainier weather, we visited museums and wine/distillery tastings (hello, Whidbey Distillery Blackberry liqueur!), and then stayed in to bake a Whidbey Island pie and play board games, snuggled in the fuzzy blankets provided at the house. If I were to offer minor suggestions, I'd consider keeping dishwasher and laundry detergent available (we went to the store and bought our own), and maybe a basket/binder of area info (places to visit, restaurant menus, etc.). A lovely stay, all three generations of us would definitely love to return to adventure and then unwind again.
