The room was clean and the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was a nice little treat every morning and it was delicious. Loved the vibe at this hotel. It's clean, the beds were super comfortable and the pool/hot tub was a great activity to do in the evening. The horses on the property really add to the experience. Its proximity to the trail to Chincoteague Beach/Refuge with bike and beach rentals on the premises made it so easy for us to get out and explore the area. We'll definitely be back!

The refuge lives up to its name; a quiet cozy spot to retreat and recharge. We loved the ponies, big shady trees, and proximity to Assateague. Our room was comfortable and clean; we had a mini fridge and a dehumidifier (critical in this region). I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with daily housekeeping and where everything simply worked.
